Short answer: vanilla Enshrouded has no officially documented /spawn, /give, or equivalent command that creates an arbitrary item in a player’s inventory. A dedicated-server administrator can manage access, containers, bases, and players, and can increase ordinary material yields with the resourceDropStackAmountFactor setting, but those controls do not inject a named item on demand.

Does vanilla Enshrouded have an item-spawn command?
No. Keen Games’ published dedicated-server documentation does not provide a chat or console command for creating a specific item, quantity, weapon, resource, or recipe result in a player’s inventory. There is no documented vanilla syntax such as /spawn <item> <quantity>, /give, or an item-ID command that server owners can safely copy into chat or a server console.

This distinction matters because many multiplayer games use “admin” as shorthand for cheat commands. In Enshrouded’s documented server model, administration means permission management and world moderation. It does not establish that the server can manufacture arbitrary inventory objects.
If your goal is a named item, the supported choices are to obtain it through normal gameplay or to increase the amount of materials produced by normal sources. A third-party mod or save editor might offer a different mechanism, but that is outside the documented vanilla server feature set and must be checked separately for the exact game version, server build, and multiplayer risks.

What the official dedicated server actually supports
The server configuration file
Keen Games’ installation guidance says that Enshrouded includes a dedicated-server executable in Steam’s Tools section. Start that executable once and it creates enshrouded_server.json. That JSON file is the central place for the documented server configuration.
Stop the server before editing the file. Keep a copy of both the JSON configuration and your save data before changing settings. JSON is strict: a missing quotation mark, comma, or closing brace can prevent the server from loading the configuration, so make one small change at a time and retain a known-good backup.
User groups and passwords
The official role documentation states: “Player permissions for playing on servers are handled via user groups.” You assign users to groups in enshrouded_server.json and protect the groups with passwords. The role determines what an authenticated player may do; it is not an item-generation interface.

Use the least-privileged group that fits the person’s job. Give the Admin password only to people who can be trusted with world edits, container access, and kick/ban control. A password protects a role; it does not unlock undocumented commands.

How to increase material yields instead of spawning an item
If “spawn an item” really means “get building materials or crafting inputs faster,” the supported workaround is a gameplay setting rather than an inventory injection. The official gameplay-settings documentation lists resourceDropStackAmountFactor. It scales the stack amounts obtained from normal sources such as chests and defeated enemies, along with similar resource drops.
This setting changes the yield of an event that already happened. It does not place a selected sword, armor piece, quest object, or recipe result into a character’s inventory, and it does not bypass the normal conditions for obtaining a particular item.

The setting is available when the server uses the Custom gameplay preset. Use the numeric range shown in the current official gameplay-settings documentation; do not copy a value from an old community post if the current server build presents different limits. The supplied documentation identifies the field and its purpose but does not establish one universal value that is safe for every future version.
The same settings area includes controls for experience, enemies, durability, hunger, weather, and time. Those fields can alter progression or difficulty, but none should be described as a named-item spawn command. Change only the setting that addresses your problem: increasing resource stacks is less disruptive than changing enemy health or experience if the issue is simply a shortage of crafting materials.

Step-by-step: configure a dedicated server for easier resources
- Install the official server tool. In Steam, open the Tools section, locate Enshrouded Dedicated Server, and install it. Keen Games’ installation article documented Windows support at the time it was published; check current support information if you plan to host on another operating system.
- Launch the server executable once. The first launch generates
enshrouded_server.json. Let the process finish creating its files, then stop the server cleanly. - Back up the configuration and saves. Copy
enshrouded_server.jsonand the server’s save directory to a separate location. Save files are generated every five minutes according to Keen Games’ server support information, but that cadence is not a substitute for a manual backup before a configuration change. - Create or update a user group. Assign a strong, unique password and choose Admin, Friend, Guest, or Visitor according to the access required. Do not give every player Admin simply because you want one person to help with building.
- Select the Custom gameplay preset. In the JSON, set
gameSettingsPresettoCustomso individual gameplay fields can be applied. - Adjust the resource multiplier. Set
resourceDropStackAmountFactorto a value within the range documented for your current server version. This affects normal material yields from sources such as chests and defeated enemies; it does not generate a specific item by name. - Validate the JSON before saving. Preserve the existing structure and commas, and avoid adding comments because standard JSON does not support them. If you are unsure about a line, restore the backup rather than guessing at syntax.
- Restart the server. Start the dedicated server again and allow it to load the edited configuration. A setting changed while the process is running may not take effect until restart.
- Verify in game with a test account. Confirm that the intended group can perform the permitted base or container actions, and collect a small, ordinary resource drop to check the yield change. Test with a non-Admin account when you are checking permissions.
- Record the change. Note the date, server version, setting value, and the backup location. This makes rollback easier after a game update or if players report unexpected progression changes.
What Admin permissions let you do—and what they do not
An Admin can perform documented moderation and world-management actions. Depending on the role configuration, that includes changing bases, opening chests and containers, and kicking or banning players. Those capabilities can help a group recover from a griefing incident or reorganize a settlement, but they are not evidence of an inventory API.
For example, an administrator may be able to open a container that an ordinary visitor cannot. That is access control: the item still has to exist in the container or be obtained through gameplay. Likewise, the ability to edit a base changes the world, not the item table inside a character save.

How to decide between normal play, server settings, and third-party tools
Use the following decision process before searching for an item ID or downloading an editor.
Choose normal gameplay when the item is progression-sensitive
Quest rewards, equipment, recipes, and other progression-linked objects can have dependencies that a simple item injection would not satisfy. Obtaining them through the game preserves the intended unlock order and avoids creating a save state that future updates may reject.

Choose the resource multiplier when the problem is quantity
If your group is spending too much time mining, looting, or farming ordinary materials, resourceDropStackAmountFactor addresses the bottleneck while leaving the source-and-reward loop intact. It applies broadly, so agree with all players before enabling it; a setting that feels convenient to one person can make survival or crafting meaningless to another.
Investigate third-party tools only as a separate, version-specific project
Community databases can help identify an item’s display name, recipe, or possible identifier. The Official Enshrouded Wiki and Enshrouded.tools are reference resources; Enshrouded.tools labels itself unofficial. Neither reference database, by itself, supplies a supported server-injection mechanism.
Mods and save editors may exist, but their compatibility, safety, and legality are not established by the official server documentation discussed here. Treat every such tool as unverified until you confirm all of the following:
- It supports the exact Enshrouded game and dedicated-server version you run.
- It clearly states whether it edits a server save, a client save, or only local data.
- It explains multiplayer behavior and whether every connecting player needs the same files.
- It has a rollback procedure and does not require surrendering your server credentials.
- Its author documents what happens after an Enshrouded update.
Never test an unverified editor on the only copy of an active world. Make a complete backup, test on a disposable copy, and tell every player that the world may no longer be compatible with an unmodified server.

Server capacity and operational details to plan around
Changing a gameplay multiplier does not remove the ordinary hosting requirements. Keen Games’ server support figures provide useful planning baselines, qualified to the 2025 support information:

These figures describe server operation, not an item-spawn capability. They also come from support information published in 2025, while server behavior and configuration fields can change with game updates. Recheck current Keen Games documentation before applying executable commands or migrating a world to a new build.
Troubleshooting when the change does not appear
The server ignores the resource multiplier
- Confirm that
gameSettingsPresetis set toCustom, not a preset that overrides individual fields. - Stop the server before editing and restart it afterward.
- Check the spelling and capitalization of
resourceDropStackAmountFactor. - Collect a fresh drop from a documented source; an item already sitting in a container will not be retroactively multiplied.
- Restore the backup if the JSON contains a syntax error, then reapply one change at a time.
A player cannot use a base or container
- Verify that the player authenticated with the intended user-group password.
- Check the group assignment in
enshrouded_server.json. - Confirm that the server was restarted after the role change.
- Test with a controlled account so you can distinguish a permission problem from a damaged save or a world-specific restriction.
Someone claims a console command should work
Ask for a current, authoritative command reference that identifies the Enshrouded version and whether the command belongs to vanilla or a third-party mod. Do not paste a guessed /spawn or /give line into a live server. The absence of a command in the official documentation is safer evidence than an unattributed list of item IDs.
The server fails after editing the JSON
Stop trying additional edits. Replace the file with the last known-good backup, start the server, and confirm the world loads. Then compare the backup and edited versions carefully, preserving valid JSON punctuation. If the failure began after a game update, check the current official configuration reference before reintroducing older fields.
Common misconceptions about item IDs
An item name or identifier in a database is not automatically an instruction the server understands. Databases catalog content; they do not grant write access to a character inventory. Even if a community page lists an internal-looking identifier, that does not establish a vanilla command, a supported API, or compatibility with your dedicated-server build.
Similarly, seeing a role named Admin does not imply that hidden cheat commands are enabled. In the documented Enshrouded model, the role controls permissions such as world editing and moderation. Keep those concepts separate when evaluating guides, videos, or Discord advice.
Bottom line: the supported way to get “more items”
For a vanilla Enshrouded dedicated server, do not look for an official item-spawn command that the documentation does not provide. Install the server tool from Steam’s Tools section, let it generate enshrouded_server.json, configure user groups with strong passwords, and use the Custom gameplay settings when you need higher normal material yields. The Admin preset grants practical world and moderation authority, but it is not documented as an item injector. A specific-item injection requires a separate, version-verified third-party solution, with backups and multiplayer compatibility treated as non-negotiable.
