Once Tapeworm is complete, Chippin’ In becomes available in your journal.
Steps to unlock Chippin’ In
- Complete Search and Destroy. This main-story job leads into the final section of Tapeworm.
- Speak with Johnny outside the motel room. After the motel sequence, Johnny appears outside your room. Talk to him and continue the objectives, which take you to the Pistis Sophia hotel.
- Finish Tapeworm. Complete its remaining objectives. The walkthrough lists Tapeworm as the prerequisite for Chippin’ In.
- Check your journal. Look for Chippin’ In among your available jobs after Tapeworm is complete.
Do dialogue choices or other side quests matter?
The Tapeworm walkthrough says its dialogue choices do not affect the mission outcome, so there is no particular choice you need to make to unlock Chippin’ In. The available walkthroughs do not establish Judy or Panam questlines as prerequisites.

If Chippin’ In does not appear
First, check your journal and make sure Tapeworm is complete. If the game has not advanced, look for another quest that may be required: CD PROJEKT RED support notes that some quests depend on completing others first. If the issue persists, its general troubleshooting guidance recommends verifying the game files and loading a save from before the problem began. These are general support steps, not a confirmed fix for this specific quest.
The sequence described here is based on walkthroughs published in 2020. The sources available do not confirm whether later patches changed these quest details, so this guide does not claim to diagnose version-specific bugs.
