Does an EA Family account share an EA Play membership?
No shared membership benefit is documented in EA’s Family account guidance. EA describes Family accounts as a way for an adult to oversee a teen’s playtime and spending—not as a family subscription plan that gives every member EA Play. See EA’s parental-controls guidance.
The title uses “EA Access”; EA’s current help pages call the membership EA Play. The pages cited here do not establish when the name changed, so this article uses EA Play for the current membership.
What changes by platform?
EA Play membership benefits do not carry across console platforms. An Xbox membership does not provide PlayStation benefits, and a PlayStation membership does not provide Xbox benefits.

For Game Pass, check the current Xbox terms for the exact membership and household arrangement. EA confirms that some Game Pass memberships include EA Play, but its guidance does not settle whether that benefit extends to other household members.
How to add a teen to EA Family
- Use EA’s parental-controls instructions to set up an EA Family account and invite the teen.
- Have the teen accept the invitation within 24 hours. EA’s invitation window is 24 hours.
- Use the Family account tools to manage the teen’s playtime and spending. Do not assume this adds EA Play to the teen’s account; EA does not document it as a subscription-sharing feature.
Why a child account may still be blocked from online play
Console subscription sharing does not necessarily make an EA online game accessible to a child or limited sub-account. EA says these sub-accounts cannot connect to EA Accounts to play online, and it also says child accounts cannot become EA Play members. Check EA’s pages on linking an EA Account and how parental controls affect child accounts before relying on a shared console subscription.

For an adult or teen account, confirm that the player’s EA Account is linked to the relevant Xbox or PlayStation account and that they are signed in to that console account. Linking is required by EA’s platform instructions; it does not make a membership work across platforms.
