How to Stream a 4K 60fps Kannada Devotional Playlist Continuously on YouTube Live

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

You can stream a Kannada devotional playlist at 4K/2160p and 60 frames per second on YouTube Live, but YouTube does not turn a playlist into a live broadcast by itself. A playback source must feed an encoder configured for 3840×2160 at 60fps, and that system must keep running and connected. For a continuous stream, first confirm the rights for every recording and visual, then configure, test, and monitor the playback-and-encoder setup.

What you need for a continuous 4K60 stream

YouTube supports live ingest at 2160p and 60fps. The stream starts with your playlist playing into an encoder; YouTube receives that live signal and transcodes it into formats for different devices and connections. That does not mean every viewer will be able to select or receive 4K.

  • A playlist source and software or hardware capable of feeding its output to a live encoder.
  • An encoder that can produce a stable 3840×2160, 60fps stream using a YouTube-supported codec.
  • A reliable upload connection with enough sustained capacity for the chosen video bitrate, plus room for audio and network variation.
  • A playback and recovery plan that restarts or advances through files and reconnects the encoder if playback or the connection stops.
  • Permission to livestream the recordings, underlying compositions, and any artwork or video used, including permission for continuous or repeated use and monetization if applicable.

YouTube’s Live Streaming API lists 2160p and 60fps among supported live-stream values. Support for the format is not a guarantee that a particular computer, encoder, or internet connection can sustain it.

Check music and visual rights before configuring the stream

Confirm that your permissions cover livestreaming each sound recording and its underlying composition. Also check rights for lyrics shown on screen, album art, devotional images, and other visuals. For a continuous or repeating broadcast, make sure the license covers that duration and use, the territories where viewers may watch, and monetization if you plan to enable it. A permission to play a recording privately or upload a video does not by itself establish permission for a 24/7 livestream.

YouTube’s encoder documentation describes technical requirements, not rights clearance. The status of any particular Kannada devotional track or playlist cannot be determined without reviewing the relevant permissions. YouTube may restrict or interrupt a broadcast if a rights issue is reported or detected.

Choose a playback and encoder setup

Software encoder on a computer

OBS is one option for encoding a playlist output and sending it to YouTube. The computer has to keep the playback source and encoder running for the whole broadcast. OBS notes that system demands vary with encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity, so test the actual machine under the intended 4K60 workload rather than assuming that a computer that can play a 4K file can also encode and stream it reliably. See OBS’s system requirements and hardware encoding guidance.

Dedicated hardware encoder

A hardware encoder can send a source to YouTube without relying on a general-purpose computer for encoding. YouTube names the Blackmagic Web Presenter 4K as a hardware streaming solution capable of up to 2160p60. Confirm the exact model, input path, and compatibility with your playlist playback source before buying. A capture card is not inherently required for a playlist-only broadcast; it is relevant when your workflow actually needs to capture an external video source.

How to choose

  • Use an existing computer and software encoder if it can sustain the workload and you can keep it powered, connected, and monitored.
  • Consider a dedicated encoder if you want purpose-built encoding hardware and have confirmed that your playback source can feed it.
  • Plan continuity separately from encoding. A capable encoder does not automatically make a playlist loop, restart a failed file, or recover from every disconnection.

Configure YouTube’s 4K60 ingest settings

YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends the following video bitrates for 4K/2160p60. These are ingest recommendations, not a promise that a given upload connection will remain stable.

Setting Recommended configuration
Resolution and frame rate 3840×2160 (2160p), 60fps
Video codec and bitrate AV1 or H.265/HEVC: 35 Mbps recommended; 10 Mbps minimum
Video codec and bitrate H.264: 50 Mbps recommended; 14 Mbps minimum
Rate control CBR (constant bitrate)
Keyframe interval 2 seconds recommended; do not exceed 4 seconds
Transport RTMP or RTMPS; YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport
Audio for RTMP/RTMPS AAC or MP3; YouTube recommends 128 kbps stereo audio
Latency Normal latency; YouTube’s low-latency improvement option is unavailable for 4K/2160p

Use YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions as the reference when setting up your encoder. Audio and transport options depend on the ingest protocol you select; use settings supported by the current YouTube guide.

Set up the live broadcast and keep playback running

  1. Prepare the source. Arrange the playlist in the order you want viewers to hear it, check that every file plays correctly, and decide what should happen when the last item ends. Configure looping or a restart process in your chosen player or automation software; the exact controls depend on that software.
  2. Create the stream in YouTube Studio. Follow YouTube’s instructions for creating a live stream with an encoder. Copy the stream key from YouTube Studio into the encoder’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish or share it, and reset it in YouTube Studio if it is exposed.
  3. Configure the encoder. Set 3840×2160 at 60fps, select a supported codec, use CBR, and set a 2-second keyframe interval. Set video bitrate according to the codec table above and configure supported audio settings.
  4. Choose the ingest protocol. Configure the encoder for the server and protocol shown by YouTube Studio. If RTMP/RTMPS is available for your workflow, YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport. HLS is a separate ingest option: its official guide describes sending media playlists and segments, so use HLS only if your selected encoder and workflow support that method.
  5. Leave upload headroom. Check your sustained upload capacity, not just a brief peak speed-test result. The video bitrate is only part of the traffic, and network variation can cause instability. There is no universal safety margin that fits every connection; choose a bitrate your connection can sustain reliably.
  6. Configure recovery. Decide how your playback software will handle a file ending or failing, and how your encoder will reconnect if the connection drops. Verify the behavior with a test rather than assuming the playlist or encoder will restart automatically.
  7. Test before making the broadcast public. YouTube recommends a test with representative sound and movement. Check audio continuity, playback transitions, encoder load, upload stability, YouTube stream-health warnings, and whether the expected quality options appear for viewers. Monitor stream health during the live broadcast.

Run a 24/7 stream reliably

A continuous stream depends on every link in the chain: the playlist source, playback process, encoder, power, and internet connection. With a computer-based setup, a sleep setting, power loss, software crash, full disk, or network outage can stop the broadcast. For long-running use, test the complete chain for an extended period, configure the computer not to sleep, and decide who will respond to alerts or restart a failed process. If a hardware encoder is involved, confirm how it behaves after power or network interruptions.

YouTube’s 4K live stream uses normal latency, not the low-latency improvement option. Viewers may also see different available resolutions because YouTube transcodes the incoming stream for different devices and network conditions.

Troubleshoot common 4K60 problems

  • YouTube does not show 2160p60: Check that the encoder is actually sending 3840×2160 at 60fps and that YouTube Studio is receiving the intended stream. Check stream health and allow for the fact that YouTube transcodes to viewer formats; a viewer’s device or connection may not offer 4K playback.
  • The stream buffers, drops frames, or shows poor health: The encoder may be overloaded or the upload may not sustain the selected bitrate. Check encoder load and connection stability, then use a bitrate your connection can reliably hold. YouTube’s recommended video bitrate is not a connection guarantee.
  • The stream connects but has no sound: Check that the playlist source is sending audio, that the encoder is using a supported audio codec, and that the audio level is not muted or routed elsewhere. For RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube lists AAC or MP3 and recommends 128 kbps stereo.
  • The playlist stops at the end of a file or list: Configure looping or a restart action in the playback software. Confirm the behavior in a test; continuous playback is a source-automation task, not a YouTube playlist setting.
  • The encoder does not reconnect after an interruption: Check its reconnection behavior and the playback process separately. Test a controlled disconnection before relying on the setup for an unattended broadcast.
  • YouTube interrupts or restricts the stream: Review the channel’s YouTube Studio notices and check rights for the recording, composition, and visuals. Technical compliance does not establish permission to broadcast the material.

Or let it run in the cloud

If the goal is a continuously looping prerecorded playlist rather than a live camera feed, StreamNeo is a cloud option for keeping a YouTube channel live: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It keeps running without a computer or home connection staying on, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. Videos stream as uploaded at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers. The first day is free with no card; one free day is available per account. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
