To keep apartment walkthrough videos live on YouTube around the clock, create a YouTube Live broadcast and send it from an encoder using the stream’s server URL and private stream key. You can run the encoder on a local computer or use a cloud service that loops uploaded videos. Before launch, enable live streaming, test the connection and plan for YouTube’s 12-hour archive limitation: a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured as a replay.
Choose a workflow for a continuous walkthrough feed
There are two practical approaches: operate an encoder yourself, or have a cloud service send uploaded videos to YouTube. The DIY route gives you direct control over the encoding and local recording, but the computer, power and internet connection must remain available. A hosted service reduces the equipment that must stay running at the apartment.

Check YouTube eligibility and prepare the channel
- Use a verified YouTube channel. YouTube says the channel must have no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and the creator must be at least 16 to live stream. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Enable live streaming in YouTube Studio ahead of the planned launch. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.
- Plan the broadcast’s title, description, visibility and viewing experience. Identify the apartment or features accurately, and avoid implying that a walkthrough is a live camera tour if it is prerecorded footage.
Film responsibly before you go live
Get permission from the property owner or authorized manager before recording. Ask identifiable residents, staff or visitors for permission, avoid filming private information, and check applicable local rules. These are prudent safeguards; the sources cited here do not establish India-specific legal requirements for filming apartment interiors or shared areas.

- Check mirrors, screens, mail, documents, access codes and other details that could expose private information.
- Review common areas for people who may be identifiable, and avoid recording them without permission.
- Use original walkthrough footage or footage you are authorized to use. A property tour does not grant rights to background music, artwork, television audio or other copyrighted material.
DIY setup: send the walkthrough from an encoder
- Create the broadcast: In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Set its title, description and visibility. YouTube’s encoder setup page describes connecting an encoder to a live stream.
- Protect the stream key: Copy the YouTube server URL and stream key into the encoder’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password; do not put it in a public description, video, screenshot or chat. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Choose an encoder: YouTube supports software encoders and standalone hardware encoders, including workflows with external video and audio hardware. Its verified encoder list identifies products that have been verified; listing does not mean YouTube makes or endorses them. The platform also offers webcam and mobile streaming methods, so a particular camera model is not required.
- Set up the video source: Add the walkthrough recording or playlist as the encoder’s source. Configure the output to match the footage and the connection you have tested. Do not assume that a higher output resolution improves a lower-resolution source.
- Check upload capacity: Measure outbound upload capacity at the apartment; download speed is not a substitute. YouTube says the total stream bitrate must fit within available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% headroom. If you use a backup encoder, allow for the combined bitrate of both encoders plus that headroom. See YouTube’s network guidance.
- Preview and verify: Start the encoder in preview mode, check the Live Control Room, then verify the watch page from another device. Confirm that both picture and sound are acceptable before relying on the stream. YouTube recommends testing in advance and monitoring audio and video while live; see YouTube’s streaming tips.
- Keep the DIY setup running: For an uninterrupted broadcast, the encoder, video source, power and outbound connection must continue working. Monitor the stream and have a recovery plan for interruptions. YouTube recommends testing failover when using a backup encoder; its guidance does not establish an India-specific internet provider, uptime guarantee or power-backup requirement.
Plan for the 12-hour replay limitation
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. A 24/7 broadcast therefore should not be treated as a guaranteed full-length replay. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive; see its live-stream archive guidance.
If viewers need a replay, decide in advance how to preserve it. A local recording gives you a separate copy to manage. Ending and restarting broadcasts may help you create shorter segments, but YouTube’s guidance does not establish a restart schedule or guarantee that splitting a stream resolves every archive or workflow issue. Test the specific process before depending on it.

Understand monetization and originality
A 24/7 stream is not automatically eligible to earn money. YouTube says a channel must apply to and be accepted into the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), comply with channel monetization policies and meet feature-specific eligibility. Its India-facing help page, accessed in 2026, lists ad-revenue eligibility as 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified long-form watch hours in the previous 365 days or 10 million qualified Shorts views in the previous 90 days. Rules and feature availability can change, so check YouTube’s current YPP eligibility information before making plans.
YouTube’s monetization policy says repetitive or mass-produced material may be ineligible under its “inauthentic content” policy. It describes monetizable work as having materially varied substance that provides creative, educational or other value. Near-identical loops should not be assumed to qualify. Distinct original walkthroughs, useful narration or explanations, and clear value for viewers are safer editorial choices, but they do not guarantee YPP acceptance. Troubleshoot common 24/7 stream problems
- You cannot start a live stream: Confirm the channel is verified, live streaming is enabled, the account meets YouTube’s age requirement, and there is no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. If you just enabled live streaming for the first time, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
- The encoder does not connect: Recheck the server URL and stream key in the encoder’s stream settings. Confirm the stream is active in YouTube Studio, and replace a key that may have been exposed.
- The feed buffers or drops: Check outbound upload capacity at the apartment, not download speed. Ensure the total bitrate fits the available upload bandwidth with YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. If a backup encoder is running, include its bitrate in the calculation.
- Picture or audio is poor: Preview before going live, check the source and encoder output, and monitor both audio and video during the broadcast. Test again on the actual apartment connection.
- The full-day replay is missing: YouTube may not capture streams exceeding 12 hours. Use a local recording where possible and test any plan to end and restart broadcasts; neither a full replay nor a particular restart outcome is guaranteed by the cited guidance.
- The stream stops after equipment or connection trouble: For a local setup, check power, the encoder and the apartment connection, then restore the feed and verify the watch page. YouTube advises testing failover if you use a backup encoder. A cloud workflow such as StreamNeo can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream, but it does not remove YouTube’s archive limitation.
