Use a different command for each edition. In Java Edition, try /summon minecraft:villager ~ ~ ~ {Age:-6000}. In Bedrock Edition, use /summon villager ~ ~ ~ minecraft:entity_born. The Java command is a historical community example, while the Bedrock command uses a documented spawn-event argument; the Bedrock villager will grow up.
Java Edition command
Enter this in chat, or run it from a command block:
/summon minecraft:villager ~ ~ ~ {Age:-6000}
The negative Age value is the part intended to make the villager a baby. A Java Edition forum answer gives the example as /summon Villager ~ ~1 ~ {Age:-6000} and clarifies that IsBaby is used for zombies, not villagers. The example dates to 2014, and current official Java command documentation was not established here, so treat it as version-sensitive: if your game rejects it, check the command syntax for your installed version. Bedrock Edition command
Run:
/summon villager ~ ~ ~ minecraft:entity_born
Bedrock’s official /summon reference documents the optional spawn-event argument after the coordinates and requires cheats. A Minecraft Forum support reply identifies minecraft:entity_born as the baby-villager event and says the summoned villager grows up; it is community guidance, not an official compatibility guarantee. - Minecraft is a game about placing blocks and going on adventures
- Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles
- Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off the dangerous mobs
- Play on the go in handheld or tabletop modes
- Includes Super Mario Mash-Up, Natural Texture Pack, Biome Settlers Skin Pack, Battle & Beasts Skin Pack, Campfire Tales Skin Pack; Compatible with Nintendo Switch only
Why the commands differ
Java’s example sets the villager’s age with an NBT value; Bedrock uses a spawn event. Do not copy one edition’s command into the other. In particular, IsBaby:1 is not the villager setting identified by the Java discussion.
