To continue your Halo: Campaign Evolved progress between Xbox and PC, sign in with the same Microsoft account and Xbox Gamertag on both. Halo Support says campaign progress, collectibles, and Achievements sync across supported platforms when you use a linked Microsoft account. On Steam, you must link Steam to that Microsoft account through the game.
What syncs between Xbox and PC?
Halo Support lists these items as synchronized across supported platforms: Mission and Rally Point unlocks, Skulls, Terminals, and Achievements. Its guidance does not establish that local settings, control bindings, temporary checkpoints, or platform purchases transfer.

The account is the key: use the Microsoft account associated with the campaign progress you want to continue. The game supports cross-progression across Xbox Series X|S and PC, including the Xbox app/Microsoft Store and Steam. Halo Support’s cross-progression guidance describes sync through a linked Microsoft account.
Continue your campaign on PC
- Identify the Xbox account. On your Xbox, confirm which Microsoft account and Xbox Gamertag hold the progress you want to use.
- Launch the PC version. If you use the Xbox app or Microsoft Store, sign in with that same Microsoft account. If you use Steam, start the game and follow its account-linking prompt.
- Link Steam carefully. The Steam account must be linked to the intended Microsoft account, which must have an Xbox Gamertag. Before confirming, review the platform and Microsoft accounts shown on screen.
- Load your progress. Once signed in and linked, allow the game to load the Microsoft account’s synchronized progression.
Linking a Steam account to Microsoft
Halo Support’s instructions for Steam describe this in-game process:

- From the game’s main menu, begin account linking and review the Microsoft account requirement.
- Scan the displayed QR code or open the Microsoft linking portal, then enter the eight-character code shown in-game. Halo Support says the code expires after 15 minutes.
- Sign in to the Microsoft account that holds your Xbox progress and has an Xbox Gamertag.
- Check that the Microsoft and platform accounts displayed are the ones you intend to link. Agree only after confirming both.
- Complete the flow and select “Let’s go.” Halo Support warns that closing the sign-in window before selecting it can prevent the link from completing.

Check the account before linking
Halo Support says an initial account link cannot be undone in-game. If you link the wrong accounts, you must submit an unlink request through Halo Support; unlinking is not a self-service setting. The guide says progression remains on the Microsoft account and other platforms still linked to it, while the unlinked Steam account loses the listed progression.

Halo Support says requests are reviewed and processed in 1–2 business days. Its guide also states that the same two accounts cannot receive another unlink request until 180 days have elapsed. These are support-policy details and may change; check the current guide before submitting a request.

- Verify the Microsoft account and Xbox Gamertag on the PC match the account that holds the Xbox progress.
- If you play through Steam, verify that Steam is linked to that intended Microsoft account.
- If the accounts are wrong, use the official Halo Support unlink request process rather than trying to unlink them in-game.
- If the accounts are correct and progress is still missing, check current Halo Support status and submit a support request. The published guidance establishes intended synchronization, but does not identify one universal cause or fix for every missing-save case.
A dated saved-progress exception
Halo Support’s August 17, 2026 patch notes say that installing that update required mid-mission saved progress to be reset, while unlocked Missions and Rally Points remained available. This was a requirement for that specific update, not an indication that ordinary Xbox-to-PC cross-progression resets mid-mission saves.

Cross-save is separate from game access and co-op subscriptions
Xbox Wire identified Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as day-one access options; neither is stated to be a requirement for progress synchronization. Halo Support separately says two-player console split-screen does not require Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus, while network co-op across multiple consoles or PCs may have additional subscription requirements. Those co-op conditions are separate from cross-save.
