In Botania, the simplest way to move mana between two Mana Pools is to aim a Mana Spreader at the receiving pool and bind it with a Wand of the Forest. For an automatic nearby setup, use Sparks: put a Recessive Augment on the source pool and a Dominant Augment on the destination. These instructions assume you mean Botania in Minecraft; other games may use “mana pool” for different mechanics.
Transfer mana directly with a Mana Spreader
A Mana Spreader sends mana from one point to another, making it the straightforward choice for a direct pool-to-pool route. Botania’s Lexicon describes the spreader as the main tool for manipulating mana. The FTB Academy tutorial gives this binding sequence:
- Place a Mana Spreader where it can target the receiving Mana Pool.
- Sneak-right-click the spreader with the Wand of the Forest, then sneak-right-click the destination pool to bind the spreader to it.
- Send mana into the spreader. It will send stored mana to the bound pool.
The important distinction is that binding chooses the destination; the spreader still needs to receive mana before it can send it onward.
Automate nearby transfers with Sparks
For a nearby network, place Sparks on the pools involved and set their augments to create a source and destination:

- Source pool: attach a Recessive Augment to its Spark. A Recessive Spark distributes mana from its pool to nearby non-augmented or Dispersive Spark pools until its own pool is empty.
- Receiving pool: attach a Dominant Augment to its Spark. A Dominant Spark draws mana from nearby non-augmented Spark pools until its pool is full.
Sparks with different colors do not interact. Botania’s cited Lexicon section does not specify a numeric Spark range, so confirm the effective distance in the Lexicon for your installed version rather than relying on a universal block count.
Carry mana between locations with a Mana Tablet
A Mana Tablet is a portable option when the pools are not set up for a direct spreader or Spark connection. According to the FTB Wiki’s Mana Tablet entry, placing the tablet on a Mana Pool transfers mana according to its current flow direction, which can be changed with the Wand of the Forest. That entry does not specify a version scope, so check the in-game Lexicon for the behavior in your Minecraft and Botania version.

Choose another method for distribution or transport
Split an incoming burst among pools
A Mana Splitter divides mana received from Mana Bursts evenly among Mana Pools on its adjacent sides. Use it when you want an incoming burst routed to several pools. It distributes incoming burst mana; it is not described as pulling mana already stored in one pool and transferring it to another.
Move mana along a rail route
A Mana Pump can transfer mana between a stationary Mana Pool and a Minecart with Mana Pool on the opposite side. Mana flows from the pump’s blue side in the direction indicated by its arrow. The Botania Lexicon describes the transfer as very fast and warns that overflow can lose up to a diluted pool’s worth of mana. Breaking a pool minecart that contains mana loses all of its contents. The cart’s pool is for transport and cannot itself receive, send, transfer, or infuse items with mana.

Transferring between Botania pools and Ars Nouveau source jars is a separate interoperability setup, not the same as moving mana between two Botania pools. The Ars Botania project page says Ars Nouveau mana relays can transfer mana between Mana Pools and lists Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 support with Forge/NeoForge as of its 2026-04-24 update. Check the compatibility information for the exact release you have installed.
