If EA SPORTS FC 25 keeps closing on your Xbox Series X or S, start with EA’s reversible recommendation: close background apps, then relaunch the game. If the crash continues, use EA’s FC 25 support hub for title-specific guidance, including instructions for handling corrupt files. No single fix is confirmed for every Xbox crash, so note exactly when and how it happens as you troubleshoot.
Try EA’s first recommended step
- Close background apps. EA’s general crash and freezing guidance recommends closing background apps when a game crashes or freezes. Close apps you are not using, then launch FC 25 again and check whether the crash returns.
- Check FC 25-specific help. Visit the EA SPORTS FC 25 support hub for additional help. It links to game-specific instructions, including guidance for deleting corrupt files. Follow EA’s instructions rather than guessing which files or console menus to use.
These are troubleshooting steps, not guaranteed fixes. EA’s general crash advice applies to Xbox, but the available guidance does not establish one cause or resolution for all FC 25 crashes on Series X|S.
Record what happens before contacting support
Capture the details below if the issue persists. They help describe the problem without assuming its cause.
- When it crashes: at startup, while entering Ultimate Team, or during a match.
- What closes: FC 25 returning to the Xbox dashboard, or the console itself shutting down.
- How often and when it began: whether it happens repeatedly and whether you first noticed it after a game or system update.
- What else is affected: whether other games also crash on the console.
- Any error message: record the exact wording, if one appears.
- Steps already tried: for example, closing background apps and following relevant EA instructions.
If EA’s documented steps do not resolve the problem, contact EA Support with those details, including whether you use an Xbox Series X or Series S.

What is known about FC 25 crashes on Xbox
Players have reported FC 25 closing on Xbox Series S, including when entering Ultimate Team or after a match, in an EA Forums discussion. Those posts are individual reports: they do not establish how common the issue is, a shared cause, or a confirmed fix.
No current official FC 25-specific Xbox Series X|S crash notice or confirmed fix is established here. A player’s report should not be treated as confirmation that the same issue affects every console or that a particular step will solve it.
