2. Install available system and game updates
Nintendo recommends checking for both a Switch system update and a software update. To check NBA 2K24, go to the HOME Menu and highlight the game without opening it.
- Press the + or − button.
- Select Software Update, then Via the Internet.
- Install any update offered, and check for a system update in System Settings if one is available.

3. Check NBA 2K24 for corrupt data
Use the Switch’s built-in check before deleting or reinstalling the game:
- Open System Settings.
- Select Data Management, then Manage Software.
- Select NBA 2K24, then Check for Corrupt Data.
2K’s Switch-specific instructions say the check “may take a few minutes.” If the console reports a problem, follow the on-screen prompts. The steps are documented by both Nintendo and 2K Support.

4. Redownload to system memory if the earlier steps do not help
Nintendo’s next step for affected software is to delete it and redownload it to the console’s system memory. If a microSD card is installed, remove it before redownloading. This is a diagnostic reinstall procedure, not evidence that a faulty card is the cause of every crash.
Because redownloading takes more time and changes the installed game data, try the restart, updates, and data check first. Follow Nintendo’s software-closure troubleshooting steps for the applicable deletion and redownload instructions.

5. Test the connection only when online symptoms are present
If the crash is accompanied by a connection error, synchronization failure, or disconnection from an online mode, test the Switch connection: open System Settings → Internet → Test Connection. 2K’s console troubleshooting guidance covers online connection problems.
A connection test can help investigate those symptoms, but it does not diagnose the cause of a software crash. If NBA 2K24 closes while playing offline and there are no connection or synchronization problems, focus on the software steps above.

6. Contact Nintendo or 2K if the crash continues
If the preceding steps do not resolve the problem, Nintendo’s guidance says: “If the issue persists, please contact us for support.” You can also submit a request to 2K Support; NBA 2K24 is available as a game selection on its form. The form provides a contact route, not a guaranteed response time or remedy.
Include the exact error text or code, when the crash occurs (for example, during startup or when starting a game), whether you use a digital download or a game card, and which steps you have already tried. Those details help support distinguish a repeatable failure from other symptoms without assuming a cause.
