On PS5, go to Settings > Accessibility > Controllers, then set Trigger Effect Intensity to Off. This disables adaptive trigger effects through a console-wide setting, not a Battlefield 6-only option.
Turn off adaptive triggers on PS5
- From the PS5 home screen, open Settings.
- Select Accessibility, then Controllers.
- Choose Trigger Effect Intensity and set it to Off.
- Return to Battlefield 6 and test the controller triggers.
Electronic Arts’ Battlefield 6 controller-settings guide says: “If you want to turn off haptic triggers for your controller in Battlefield 6, you need to do it through your system settings.”
What the setting changes
Trigger Effect Intensity is a PS5 system setting, so turning it off affects trigger effects in other games too. PlayStation describes Battlefield 6 as “Playable without Adaptive Trigger Effect,” meaning you can play without adaptive resistance in the triggers. The PlayStation Store listing uses that name for the feature, while EA identifies the relevant PS5 control as Trigger Effect Intensity.
If you want trigger effects in other games, return to Settings > Accessibility > Controllers > Trigger Effect Intensity and choose your preferred setting. The available official guidance identifies the system-level route; it does not identify a Battlefield 6-only toggle that leaves effects enabled elsewhere.
