To stop Cyberpunk 2077’s cross-platform save feature from uploading saves, open Settings → Gameplay and turn off Enable cross-platform Saves. On PC, also disable cloud sync in the launcher you use—Steam, Epic Games Launcher, or GOG GALAXY—because those controls are separate.
Turn off Cyberpunk 2077 cross-platform saves
- Launch Cyberpunk 2077 and open Settings.
- Select Gameplay.
- Switch Enable cross-platform Saves off.
CD PROJEKT RED says the feature is enabled by default once connected, and newly created saves are automatically uploaded to its cloud while it is enabled. Disable PC launcher cloud sync separately
If you play on PC, the launcher may sync saves independently of the game’s cross-progression setting. Turn off the setting for the launcher that owns your installation.
Steam
- Open Library in Steam and right-click Cyberpunk 2077.
- Select Properties → General.
- Turn off Cloud Synchronization.
Steam also provides a global control under Steam → Settings → Cloud. Steam says that when Cloud is disabled for a game, progress is saved locally on the machine where it was made. Steam Cloud support

Epic Games Launcher
- Open Settings in Epic Games Launcher.
- Clear Enable Cloud Saves.
Epic warns that disabling and then re-enabling Cloud Save while playing on multiple machines can cause cloud-save conflicts. Epic Games Launcher cloud-save instructions
GOG GALAXY
- Select Cyberpunk 2077 in GOG GALAXY.
- Open Manage Installation → Configure.
- Disable cloud saves.
GOG recommends backing up save files before deleting them. Cloud removal may take up to 24 hours; temporarily disabling sync can help stop deleted local files from being uploaded again during that period. GOG cloud-save instructions

What disabling sync changes
- The game’s cross-progression toggle controls Cyberpunk 2077’s cross-platform save feature.
- Launcher cloud sync is a separate PC setting, so switching off only one layer may leave another active.
- Turning off a cloud service removes the convenience of having that service sync progress across devices; Steam states that saves remain local when Steam Cloud is disabled.
PlayStation transfer and console backups
CD PROJEKT RED documents a PS4-to-PS5 transfer option that uploads one save without a PlayStation Plus subscription, and describes cross-progression as an alternative. That transfer option is distinct from the in-game cross-progression toggle, so do not assume the toggle disables every console backup or transfer feature.
