In Screamer, the left stick steers and the right stick controls drifting. If you want to stop using the right stick for drifting, check the game’s controller-remapping options—but the official sources do not confirm that you can turn the action off completely.
What the right stick does in Screamer
Milestone’s June 9, 2025 gameplay reveal says the default Twin Stick controls use the left analog stick to steer and the right one to drift. A later gameplay introduction, published October 27, 2025, describes steering and drifting as independent actions that can be combined.
So if the problem is that the right stick is affecting your car, it is likely triggering drift rather than steering. The left stick is the steering input.
How to change the right-stick control
The PlayStation Store listing confirms that Screamer supports advanced controller remapping. Open the game’s control options on PS5 and look for the remapping options for the right-stick action. The official information does not document the exact menu path or labels, so the names and location may differ from these descriptions.

- Adaptive triggers - Experience varying levels of force and tension as you interact with your in-game gear and environments. From pulling back an increasingly tight bowstring to hitting the brakes on a speeding car, feel physically connected to your on-screen actions.
- Built-in microphone and headset jack - Chat with friends online using the built-in microphone or by connecting a headset to the 3.5mm jack. Easily switch voice capture on and off at a moment’s notice with the dedicated mute button. Internet and account for PlayStation Network required.
- DualSense Controller PS5 and PC compatible. Not compatible with PS4.
- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
If you want to stop drifting with the right stick, see whether the remapping options let you assign the drift action elsewhere. The listing confirms remapping is available, but does not establish whether the right-stick action can be left unassigned or set to “off.”

The PlayStation Store listing also says horizontal and vertical sensitivity can be adjusted for each stick used by the game. Sensitivity changes how strongly or quickly the input responds; it is not evidence of a setting that disables the right stick.
