To show Fortnite’s standard crosshair on PS4, open Settings → Game UI → Reticle & Damage Feedback, turn Reticle on, then select Apply. This is Epic’s documented setting for turning the native reticle on or off: Epic Games Support.
Turn on Fortnite’s reticle on PS4
- Launch Fortnite and open the in-game menu.
- Select Settings, shown with a gear icon.
- Open the Game UI tab.
- Under Reticle & Damage Feedback, set Reticle to on.
- Select Apply to save the change.
Epic’s instructions describe the Fortnite setting and are not specific to PS4, but they provide the in-game path for controlling the reticle’s visibility.
If the crosshair still does not appear
Check that you selected Apply after changing the setting. Also make sure you mean Fortnite’s normal in-game reticle: the Epic support instructions establish a visibility toggle, not a control for choosing a custom reticle shape or color. The separate Epic HUD and Aim Assist troubleshooting article does not establish a PS4-specific missing-reticle bug or a special PS4 repair.
Reticle and aim assist are separate settings
The reticle is the aiming marker displayed on screen; aim assist is a separate controller feature. Epic’s aim-assist instructions place its controls under Controller Options: enable Advanced Options under Sensitivity, then adjust Aim Assist Strength to your preference. Epic’s troubleshooting guidance suggests 100% or lower according to preference, notes that aim assist is disabled when gyro is active, and cautions that settings vary by platform. Changing aim assist does not turn the reticle on.

Can you use a custom crosshair?
The cited Fortnite instructions document turning the built-in reticle on or off; they do not document an in-game PS4 setting for changing its shape or color. If you want an additional static crosshair, some monitors offer one through their on-screen display (OSD), independently of Fortnite. Availability and controls depend on the exact monitor model, so check its manual and verify that its inputs work with your PS4 before relying on the feature.
For example, ASUS lists GamePlus crosshairs and HDMI connectivity for the VZ249QG1R. ASUS says that model offers six persistent crosshairs and lets users fine-tune their position; that is a manufacturer description of this model, not evidence that every monitor has an OSD crosshair. ASUS also says GamePlus support varies by monitor, so consult the exact model’s manual: ASUS GamePlus support.
