Spoilers: This guide covers all six reported endings, late-game decisions and the hidden true-ending puzzle. Walkthroughs identify five branch endings and a hidden ending, An Eternal Conclusion. Routes are nonlinear: use the in-game Story Chart to find and replay the relevant character chapter rather than expecting every outcome in one linear run. Square Enix says the chart opens as you progress and recommends checking for overlooked material when you reach a dead end (official game page; official media kit).

Before you start: use the Story Chart

The game moves among character perspectives and chapters. As the Story Chart becomes available, use it to revisit the relevant perspective and chapter for an ending you have not seen. The publisher describes exploration, character interactions, files and Profiles as sources of clues, and advises players to revisit missed information when progress stalls (Square Enix media kit).

Walkthroughs agree on six endings, but do not give fully consistent triggers or exact dialogue labels for every branch. Treat the routes below as reported cues, not a single guaranteed sequence: follow the choices currently shown in your chapter and check the Story Chart if a described option is absent. One guide identifies its instructions as based on a launch-version Steam playthrough and cautions that wording can change with patches (Destructoid).

The five branch endings

Names below follow Quest Daily where guides differ; the alternate labels are noted. The game’s own chapter state is the best way to confirm which route you are on.

  • CAPTIVATING NARRATIVE: Immerse yourself in a gripping storyline as you work to unveil the hidden truths and bring closure to restless souls. Can you communicate with the beyond and solve the paranormal mysteries?

The Tragedy of Kameshima

Quest Daily’s route cue is to complete the Sato’s Shadow memory chapter, go to the Bay, use the mirror on the rocks where the Stilltide Mirror is buried, then look to the right for the white figure. Destructoid describes a different route: progress Yuza to “Time to Meet Up,” tell Azami about the clone in Tomokazuki, move to Sato’s episodes, and surrender to Kikuko after the curse echo is revealed. Because these descriptions do not align exactly, use the Story Chart to verify the branch in your current playthrough. Destructoid calls the outcome “Kameshima.” (Quest Daily; Destructoid)

The Glory of Arnav Barnum

In Arnav’s Possessions, Quest Daily says to speak to Kikuko at the Jetty, refuse or discard the hand mirror, and discard Kippei Ikoma’s business card after Circe warns about the curse stone. Its account then mentions a mermaid-memory prompt and the Tamatebako/title-screen sequence. For the branch outcome, replay Sato’s Claim after the setup and do not give Sato the box. Destructoid also says to refuse the mirror and discard Ikoma’s card, then choose Deny and “I want to thank one” when failing to convince Arnav to hand over the Tamatebako. Since the reported dialogue instructions differ, follow the exact prompt displayed in your current chapter. Destructoid labels the ending “Arnav Barnum.” (Quest Daily; Destructoid)

Rank #2
Paranoia: The Uncooperative Board Game
  • A HILARIOUSLY CHAOTIC BOARD GAME: Play as Troubleshooters in Alpha Complex, following orders from the all-knowing Computer while navigating mutants, secret societies, and betrayals.
  • STRATEGIC BETRAYAL AND SURVIVAL: Bend the rules, expose traitors, and trust no one as you climb the ranks toward Ultraviolet Clearance—but beware of GuardBots and fellow players.
  • MODULAR MAP TILES: Create a dynamic game board each session with 30 Alpha Complex modular map tiles, offering endless replayability and strategic variety.
  • HIGH-QUALITY COMPONENTS: Includes 195 cards, 93 tokens, 6 Troubleshooter standees, a clearance tracker, and a comprehensive rulebook for seamless gameplay.
  • PERFECT FOR GAME NIGHTS: Designed for 2-6 players, ages 14 and up, with a playtime of approximately 60-90 minutes, making it a great choice for fans of strategy and humor-filled games.

The Fall of Arnav Barnum

In Possessions, refuse the mirror but keep Ikoma’s card, then continue until the Kikuko curse is forced. Quest Daily says to use the same Tamatebako setup as for the Glory route. Destructoid likewise distinguishes this outcome by keeping the card and reports choosing Deny and “I want to take one” in Sato’s Claim. The guides do not provide fully matching dialogue labels; check the game’s live prompt rather than substituting one guide’s wording for another. Destructoid calls it “Arnav Barnum’s downfall.” (Quest Daily; Destructoid)

Taiyo no Tomoshige’s Desire

Quest Daily places this outcome in Sato’s Real Name after confronting Kippei Ikoma and entering “Tairo no Tomoshige”; it reports that either Obey or Refuse triggers the ending. Destructoid gives a longer route: refuse the mirror, discard Ikoma’s card, convince Arnav to give up the box, break the Raging Waves curse in Yuza’s To The Sanctuary, then choose Obey Tomoshige in Sato’s Real Name. The triggers conflict, and Destructoid’s title spelling (“Taina No Tomosighe’s Desire”) differs from Quest Daily’s. Use the ending label and prompt shown in the game, and consult the Story Chart to confirm the branch. (Quest Daily; Destructoid)

Sato Shiranami’s Curse

Quest Daily places this ending in Yuza’s Conclusion and says it follows from avoiding the mermaid flesh. Destructoid gives a more detailed path: after the Tamatebako setup, confront Tomoshige in Sato’s Real Name and choose Refuse; in We Need a Plan, assign Circe with Shikigami and Sodo with Feast of Shadows; then choose “…” when asked whether Sato can be saved in Yuza’s Conclusion. Since the two accounts frame the prerequisite differently, use the Story Chart and the current on-screen choices to identify the branch. Destructoid calls the outcome “Curse of Sato.” (Quest Daily; Destructoid)

Unlock the true ending, An Eternal Conclusion

The hidden ending combines progress through the other five endings with a save-file, Tamatebako and title-screen puzzle. Destructoid lays out the following sequence; Quest Daily also says the five-route setup and Sato receiving the Tamatebako are relevant. If a step or choice is missing, check your Story Chart and current chapter state rather than assuming a fixed order applies to every save.

  1. Complete the five other endings. Record each outcome as it appears. The guides describe this as a prerequisite for the hidden ending.
  2. Load the blurred memory file. From Load, select the blurred save at the bottom to view the Mermaid’s memory.
  3. Put the scale in the Tamatebako. In Sato’s Claim, inspect the Altar Shelf at Minakuchi Residence and place the mermaid scale in the Tamatebako.
  4. Read the hidden rules. Open the backlog or conversation log and read the rules that appear there.
  5. Solve the title-screen prompt. Return to the title screen and click the mermaid four times, waiting roughly three seconds between clicks. Enter “Yuza” when prompted.
  6. Choose the new option in Yuza’s Conclusion. Revisit the chapter, start at the Bay Area, and select “Actually…” to reach An Eternal Conclusion.

These instructions are from published walkthroughs, not an official route specification. The exact order in which chapters appear can differ as the game opens its nonlinear chart. (Destructoid; Quest Daily)

What to do when a choice or ending is missing

  • Open the Story Chart and revisit the character perspective and chapter named by the route you are pursuing.
  • Check whether the relevant prior chapter has been completed and whether the route cue—such as keeping or discarding Ikoma’s card—matches your intended branch.
  • Read files, Profiles and conversation-log material available in the current chapter; the publisher specifically recommends revisiting overlooked information at a dead end.
  • Use the live on-screen choice labels. Published guides disagree on some dialogue wording and prerequisites, and one route account is explicitly based on a launch-version Steam playthrough.
