The dungeon is a four-player level 100 duty with three bosses; the key is to track moving hazards at Leonogg I, follow the tethered teacup at Jack-in-the-Pot, and manage Ghostly Guise and tethers at Träumerei.
How to unlock The Strayborough Deadwalk
- Complete the Dawntrail main scenario quest. The dungeon is an optional level 100 duty introduced in Patch 7.0. See the official Patch 7.0 Notes.
- In Solution Nine, speak with Nostalgia and accept the level 100 quest Something Stray in the Neighborhood. The quest reference lists Nostalgia at X:18.5, Y:18.2; other guides round the location to about X:19, Y:18. If coordinates differ in your version or map display, look for the NPC by name. See the quest entry.
- Complete the quest. Finishing it unlocks The Strayborough Deadwalk in the duty finder.
Duty format and preparation
The Strayborough Deadwalk is a four-player light-party dungeon with three boss encounters. The official Eorzea Database lists a 90-minute time limit and tomestone and treasure-coffer reward sections on the duty listing. The fight guidance below follows the encounter descriptions in Icy Veins’ dungeon guide and the dungeon reference; later patches could change encounter behavior.

Most of the work is reading telegraphs and keeping track of targets. When mechanics overlap, prioritize getting clear of marked attacks and moving hazards rather than continuing to attack.

How to beat His Royal Headness Leonogg I
Leonogg I combines delayed attacks placed at player positions with puppets that move across the arena. Watch your own position and the dolls’ paths rather than focusing only on the boss.
#1 Best Overall
- Falling Nightmare: The attack places delayed area hazards at players’ positions. Move out promptly after the markers appear. Being hit can inflict Benoggined, which prevents actions for a period.
- Team Spirit and Spirited Charge: Team Spirit brings puppets to the arena edges; Spirited Charge sends them marching across it. Stay out of their paths, including while you dodge other marked areas.
How to beat Jack-in-the-Pot
The important cue is the teacup tether. Identify which cup was tethered before the cups spin, then follow that same cup through the movement. Move away from it when the sequence resolves to avoid its explosion.
- Track the original cup: Do not choose a cup based only on where it ends up; remember which one was tethered at the start.
- Toiling Teapots: The ability creates expanding puddle hazards. Keep moving out of them while maintaining sight of the cup sequence.
How to beat Träumerei
Träumerei asks you to handle Ghostly Guise and proximity tethers without losing track of the next attack. Keep the guise for mechanics that require it, and make space to stretch tethers before Ill Intent resolves.

- Ghostly Guise and Fleshbuster: Preserve the Ghostly Guise buff for mechanics that require it, including Fleshbuster.
- Ghostduster: When this attack resolves, avoid stepping on a ghost panel while carrying the guise.
- Stray Geist and Ill Intent: Move away from the tethered Stray Geist until the tether changes color, indicating it has stretched far enough. Do this before Ill Intent resolves.
- Follow-up line attack: After the tether mechanic, reposition for the boss’s subsequent line attack.
Possible rewards
The duty’s official database listing includes tomestone and treasure-coffer reward sections. The dungeon reference also lists the Mischief Maker minion and Court Jesters orchestrion roll as possible drops; neither is guaranteed on a given run. See the dungeon entry for its listed drops.
