In Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Stealth Kill is reported to be available by default: equip a dagger, get behind an unaware target, and follow the prompt on your screen. You do not need to reach Stealth level 5—that requirement is associated with the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance, not the sequel.
How to perform a stealth kill
- Get a dagger. GamesRadar+ says daggers are sold by most blacksmiths and many merchants, and points to the smiths in Tachov or Trosky Castle as early-game options. The Brunswick’s Dagger from the Lion’s Crest pre-order quest is described as a cosmetic variant, not a mechanical upgrade. GamesRadar+’s stealth-kill guide has the merchant details.
- Equip it in your inventory. Owning a dagger is not enough; equip it through your inventory or outfit equipment. It is not wielded like a regular sword.
- Set up the approach. Watch the target and nearby patrols, crouch, stay out of direct sight, and move behind a target who has not detected you. Stealth depends on the whole scene, not just your equipment: noise, visibility, conspicuousness, light, sightlines, witnesses, and the target’s alert state all matter. KCD2.org’s stealth guide explains these factors.
- Use the live prompt. GamesRadar+ describes holding L2/LT on its listed console layouts and pressing the displayed attack input when the timed cue appears. If the target resists, a counter input may appear. Button labels and sequences can differ with platform and control settings, so follow the prompt shown in your game rather than memorizing a universal sequence.
- Plan the aftermath. Leave by a safe route and consider whether anyone saw the act, can find the body, or may investigate. A successful takedown does not stop nearby NPCs from noticing what happened.
Why the stealth-kill prompt may not appear
- Dagger owned, but no option: Check that it is equipped, then confirm you are behind an unaware target.
- The target detects you first: Reconsider direct sight, noise, movement, light, distance, and the target’s alert state. A low Noise value alone does not guarantee concealment.
- The attempt is resisted: Watch for the timed response or counter cue and react to what appears on screen.
- Guards search afterward: A witness, a visible body, noise during the action, or staying near the scene can draw attention. If you retry, change one factor at a time to identify what exposed you.
Stealth kill or knockout?
A knockout is a non-lethal takedown and does not require the dagger option. The character may wake later or be found and revived. A stealth kill is permanent and can bring more serious legal or faction-reputation consequences if witnessed or attributed to Henry. Choose based on the objective, nearby NPCs, where the body will be, and whether you have a safe exit. Neither action is automatically consequence-free.

Do you need a Stealth perk?
No Stealth level requirement is reported for Stealth Kill in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II; the KCD2 guide describes it as available by default when you have a dagger and meet the situation requirements. Do not apply the Stealth level 5 advice found in guides for the first game to the sequel.
The KCD2 guide also distinguishes Takedown from Stealth Kill and reports that the Rodent and Weasel Boy perks are mutually exclusive, with one oriented toward indoor stealth and the other outdoor stealth. Treat that perk description as guide-level information; it is not needed to unlock the basic stealth-kill action.

Choosing gear and an approach
Do not judge a stealth outfit by Noise alone. Lower Noise, Visibility, and Conspicuousness can help, but they do not cancel a clear sightline, bright light, an alert target, or a nearby witness. Consider the location and your route as well as your outfit; for perks, think about whether you usually sneak indoors or outdoors.
