In Slayers 2, Slayers unlock Breathing Styles through a style trainer and its training quest; Demons obtain an Evil Art Orb and complete the art’s training. Level 25 is a reported starting threshold for Breathing training, not a shortcut to every move. After acquiring a style or art, follow the active objective and check each skill-tree node: character level, combat mastery, skill points, and quest progress are separate requirements.
Choose your character path first
Breathing Styles are the Slayer ability path. Demon Arts—also called Evil Arts in some game-facing terminology—belong to the Demon path. Independent guides reviewed on 20 September 2026 describe these as separate routes; the mechanics below are guide-reported, not confirmed by an official mechanics page. Game updates may change steps or requirements, so treat current in-game dialogue and objectives as authoritative.
How Slayers unlock a Breathing Style
Independent guides report level 25 as the Breathing-trainer milestone. Reaching that level or talking to a trainer is not described as enough on its own: the reported sequence includes meeting the trainer’s requirements, completing assigned exercises and an encounter, then unlocking the style. The exact tasks and materials depend on the style.
- Confirm you are on the Slayer path and meet the reported level gate. Guides identify level 25 as the threshold to begin Breathing training, not a requirement that unlocks every move.
- Choose a style and find its trainer. A trainer guide lists eight trainers with different locations and requirements. Decide which one you want before traveling or farming.
- Ask the trainer what is currently required. Check the dialogue and active quest for materials, fees, and instructions. The published guide leaves some costs unestablished, so its examples are not a complete or guaranteed price list.
- Complete the active training objective. Follow the assigned exercises and any trainee encounter shown by the quest; do not assume that reaching the trainer completes the unlock.
- Check the skill tree after training. Inspect the style’s individual move nodes for their mastery, skill-point, equipment, or other prerequisites.
As examples only, the independent trainer guide reports Water at 5,000 Wen and 30 Demon Horns, Flame at 10 Demon Horns, and Serpent at 20 Demon Horns plus five Beast Cores. These are guide-reported requirements, not official confirmation; verify the current trainer dialogue before farming.

How Demons unlock a Demon Art
The Demon route has two stages: become a Demon, then acquire and train an art. A transformation guide reviewed on 20 September 2026 reports a sequence involving a reputation invitation, finding Muzan at night, collecting requested Spider Lilies, handing them to a doctor, and using Muzan Blood to transform. After transformation, the Demon Art guide describes using the Biwa Bell route to reach Muzan, obtaining and consuming an Evil Art Orb, completing the associated training, and checking the art’s skill tree.
- Complete the Demon transformation route. Follow the current objectives for the invitation, Muzan, Spider Lilies, doctor hand-in, and Muzan Blood as they appear in game.
- Use the Biwa Bell route to reach Muzan. Check Muzan’s current dialogue for the available art and its price; the guide does not establish one universal price.
- Obtain and consume an Evil Art Orb. Possessing an orb is not the same as finishing the art’s unlock or learning its full moveset.
- Complete the art’s training and inspect its tree. Follow the associated training objective, then read each move node for additional requirements.
The Demon guide reports chest acquisition as another possible way to obtain an orb, but does not establish a drop rate. It also warns that some techniques may need additional unlocks or boss drops, so check the individual node rather than assuming the orb grants every technique.

What “level up” means after unlocking an ability
Several progression systems can affect an ability, and they are not interchangeable:
- Character level is general character progression. Level 25 is the reported starting gate for Breathing training.
- Combat mastery is a separate progression track associated with the equipped weapon or style and move progression.
- Skill points are used to unlock skill-tree nodes; a particular move may require points as well as mastery.
- Quest or training completion is a separate prerequisite. Raising character level does not substitute for completing the trainer’s or art’s objective.
For a locked move, open that exact node and read its listed mastery, points, equipment, and quest requirements. Then use the relevant ability or continue the specified objective. The guides do not establish one universal mastery number or identical progression rules for every style and art.
