GTA 6’s second trailer reveals a crime story built around a failed score, a conspiracy spanning the fictional state of Leonida, and Lucia and Jason’s growing dependence on each other. Vice City is the story’s named starting point, but Rockstar’s synopsis makes clear the danger reaches beyond the city. It does not confirm a full plot outline, a romance, or a betrayal.
What does GTA 6’s second trailer reveal about the story?
Rockstar’s official synopsis, published with Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, says Jason and Lucia get caught in a criminal conspiracy after an easy score goes wrong. The scheme stretches across Leonida, and the pair must rely on each other more than before to survive. Rockstar’s Trailer 2 announcement and the official GTA VI page establish that premise.
The clearest reveal is therefore the setup, not a beat-by-beat plot: one botched job draws the two characters into danger that is larger than the score itself. The synopsis does not identify the conspiracy’s organizers, explain exactly what went wrong, or lay out a sequence of missions.
What does the trailer establish about Lucia and Jason?
Lucia and Jason are presented as a pair whose relationship is central to the premise: the official synopsis explicitly says their circumstances force them to rely on each other more than ever. Calling them co-protagonists or partners in the story is a reasonable description of that setup.

The synopsis does not confirm that they are married, romantically involved, or destined to betray one another. Those may be interpretations viewers bring to the trailer, but they are not facts established by Rockstar’s stated premise.
Is GTA 6 set in Vice City?
Yes. Rockstar opens its synopsis with “Vice City, USA,” identifying the city as a setting. But the same synopsis says the criminal conspiracy stretches across Leonida, the fictional state that encompasses the story’s wider setting. Vice City is not described as the limit of the plot.

The cited official descriptions do not establish precise map boundaries or identify every location shown in the trailer. A shot that appears to depict a particular place should not be treated as confirmation of its name based on those descriptions alone.
Is Trailer 2 actual gameplay?
Rockstar says the trailer was “captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5” and is made up of “equal parts gameplay and cutscenes,” according to its verified Trailer 2 upload. Take-Two also said the footage was captured on PlayStation 5 in its May 6, 2025 announcement.

That means the trailer combines gameplay footage and cutscenes, not that every shot shows freely playable action. The description does not establish that every detail shown represents final gameplay.
When does GTA 6 release, and on which platforms?
As of Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 announcement, GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar’s current official game page lists the same date and platforms. The earlier May 26, 2026 date in Take-Two’s May 2025 announcement was superseded by the later announcement.

Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 pre-order announcement lists the standard edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. It says the physical version is a box containing a download code, not a disc. These are announcement details and may change.
Rockstar’s game page also lists The Vice City Collection as a premium, limited-edition collectible set; it is separate from the game’s story and release platforms.

What music plays in the trailer?
The Trailer 2 upload credits “Hot Together” by The Pointer Sisters. It lists Sharon Robinson as the songwriter and gives publishing credit to Universal Music Corp. on behalf of itself, Buchu Music and Robinhill Music (ASCAP), courtesy of RCA Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.
