Then choose the fighter on the character-select screen for the mode you want to play. DLC characters are not described as rewards for completing an in-game challenge.
Get the character entitlement first
Check the store for your platform and region to see whether the fighter is released and how it is sold. A season pass bundles its listed characters; an individual purchase, when listed, lets you buy an applicable fighter separately. The base game alone does not include every DLC character.

SNK’s official product page lists Season Pass 2 with Kim Jae Hoon, Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, Wolfgang Krauser, Mr. Karate, and Kenshiro as available. Store catalogs can change, so confirm the current offer and contents before buying.

Its announced character schedule named Rick Strowd for July, Duck King for August, Kim Kaphwan for September, a mystery fighter for October, Laocorn for November, and another mystery fighter for December. The announcement does not name the October or December fighters; check current announcements and your store listing for release status.

SNK also said that DLC characters previously exclusive to season passes would become available for individual purchase during Season 3. That does not establish that every fighter is sold separately on every platform or in every region. Check the applicable store listing rather than assuming individual purchase is available.
Compare the purchase options

Select and play the DLC fighter
- Confirm access: Make sure you own the base game and that the fighter is included in your pass or edition, or that you have purchased the individual DLC.
- Choose a mode: Launch the game and open the mode you want to play.
- Select the character: Choose the DLC fighter on that mode’s character-select screen.
In Episodes of South Town (EOST), selecting a character starts that fighter’s adventure. SNK’s official EOST manual describes the mode as a journey across South Town following each character’s storyline. EOST also has character leveling and special skills; those are progression features, not steps for unlocking the DLC entitlement.

- Check that you own the base game and the correct character entitlement.
- Review the current DLC listing in your platform’s store and confirm that it applies to your platform and region.
- If the store shows the content as owned but the fighter is still unavailable, use that platform’s official support guidance. SNK’s reviewed materials do not provide a universal installation, restart, or license-refresh procedure.
Internet connection requirement
SNK says an internet connection is required to access all game content. Its product information and Season 2 announcement both state this requirement.
