In Where Winds Meet, Tai Chi is a Mystic Skill used to throw eligible targets toward a chosen landing point. You learn it during an early Qinghe encounter near a bear and a honey or beehive location, then equip it before casting. For a reliable throw, get within range, select a valid target, and turn the camera toward where you want the target to land as the animation resolves.
How to unlock Tai Chi
- On the early Qinghe route, follow the Wayfarer from the campfire and map-reveal area.
- Continue to the bear near the honey or beehive location.
- Complete the golden observation prompts there to learn Tai Chi.
- After learning it, equip Tai Chi in your Mystic Skills loadout. Learning the skill alone does not make it active for casting.

How to aim a Tai Chi throw
- Move close enough to a target that the skill can select it.
- Cast Tai Chi on the target if it is valid for the skill.
- While the throw animation completes, orient the camera toward the intended landing point.
The tutorial uses a nearby marked rock pile as an exploration example. Treat that example as a demonstration, not proof that every object or enemy can be thrown. A target can be in view and still be invalid, too far away, or unavailable in the current situation.

Combat
Tai Chi can be used against eligible combat targets, but the available sources do not establish a complete list of valid enemies or confirm that every boss, mode, or co-op object accepts it. Check the target and the skill prompt in the current encounter rather than assuming universal compatibility.
NetEase and Everstone described Tai Chi as one of more than 40 Martial Mystic Arts in an August 20, 2025 announcement, which characterized Mystic Arts as tools for combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. That is the publisher’s dated description, not an independently verified count for the current game version: August 20, 2025 announcement.

Tai Chi not working? Check these conditions
- Learned and equipped: Confirm Tai Chi was learned and is selected in your Mystic Skills loadout.
- Activation prompt: Follow the prompt shown by the game for the current skill and platform. No platform-specific input is established here.
- Target validity: Try a nearby target that the skill can select. Not every enemy or object is necessarily eligible.
- Distance and aim: Get closer, select the target, and turn the camera toward the intended landing point while the throw resolves.
- Mode or situation: A quest stage, game mode, or encounter may affect whether the cast is available. The sources do not establish universal mode or co-op rules.
- Vitality and cooldown: The Mystic Skills guide says offensive Mystic Skills use Vitality. Vitality is distinct from Endurance, which is used for movement and dodging. Check whether the skill is ready and whether you have the required resource; a Tai Chi-specific numerical cost or cooldown is not established by the available guides.
- Quest stage: If you are still on the learning route, finish the golden observation prompts before expecting the skill to be available.
The general cast and resource guidance is in the Mystic Skills beginner guide; it also marks its balance version unverified. Exact costs, cooldowns, target immunity rules, and later patch behavior should be checked in the live game rather than inferred from an older guide.
