Progress through the campaign’s scenarios: Frontier says completing them unlocks new locations, dinosaurs, and other content. The official guidance describes this path generally, not a species-by-species checklist, so it does not establish that finishing the campaign alone unlocks every dinosaur.
How dinosaur unlocks work
In Jurassic World Evolution 3, the confirmed general route is campaign progression. Frontier describes the campaign as a series of non-linear scenarios in which players work with the Dinosaur Integration Network to build and rebuild parks, unlocking locations, dinosaurs, and more as they progress. What to do
- Play Campaign. Choose the campaign and complete its available scenarios.
- Check your available dinosaur content as you progress. Frontier confirms that scenarios unlock dinosaurs, but does not publish the exact requirements for each species on the cited game-modes page.
- Continue through the scenarios. The campaign is non-linear, so the page does not prescribe one universal scenario order or a single completion milestone that unlocks the full roster.
What each mode is known to offer
Frontier names Campaign, Challenge, and Sandbox as the game’s modes. The available official descriptions establish their purposes, but do not give comparable, species-by-species unlock rules for all three.

How many dinosaurs are there to unlock?
Frontier reported over 85 species available at launch in its October 21, 2025 announcement. That is a launch-era figure, not a verified current roster total for October 2026. The announcement also lists four additional family units in the Deluxe Edition: Protoceratops, Guanlong, Thanatosdrakon, and Concavenator. These named additions do not account for every later update or expansion.

What the Rebirth expansion adds
Frontier’s Rebirth expansion has its own campaign, set across three locations around Île Saint-Hubert, and introduces gameplay around creating experimental dinosaur traits, according to Xbox Wire’s June 16, 2026 feature. That article does not provide a complete species-unlock table, so it cannot establish the precise unlock conditions for expansion dinosaurs.
Do not use the original game’s Sandbox instructions
Frontier Support’s article titled “Why can I not use all buildings/genomes/technology in sandbox mode?” is about the original Jurassic World Evolution and its Five Deaths islands, not Jurassic World Evolution 3. Its genome-unlocking instructions therefore should not be treated as guidance for this game.

- A complete list of every dinosaur and the scenario or requirement that unlocks it.
- Whether completing the campaign by itself grants every dinosaur.
- Whether Challenge or Sandbox unlocks species, or how Sandbox settings affect availability.
- Exact ownership requirements for dinosaurs added through expansions or other content.
For now, the supported general advice is to advance through Campaign scenarios. Treat more specific species requirements or mode-specific unlock claims as unconfirmed unless the game or an up-to-date Evolution 3 source states them.
