How to unlock the Friendship tab
- Get a Cooking Kit. A 2025 guide says to earn one by completing Garden Guide achievements. See the IndiaTimes SportsRant guide for that reported route.
- Cook a meal. Sam’s reported interaction requires cooked food, rather than a raw crop. Prepare a dish, equip it, and hold it as you approach Sam. The steps are described in GameLeap’s guide.
- Feed Sam at the Seed Stall. With the dish held, interact with Sam and choose the Feed option. A reproduction of the update notes says the friendship level is visible while food is held.
- Open the Friendship tab. Feeding is reported to raise friendship and unlock a second seed-shop tab. Check Sam’s stall after feeding to see whether the tab is available in your game.

What the reported friendship levels unlock
One September 2025 guide reports these milestones. Treat them as historical guide figures, not guaranteed current requirements.

The reproduced Update 1.21.0 notes say the four Friendship-tab seeds have different friendship requirements, but the captured passage does not give exact thresholds. A separate September 2025 walkthrough also lists Garden Coins and Robux as purchase options for some seeds; check the live tab for current prices, payment options, and stock. The reported progression mechanic is feeding Sam, not spending Robux.

How often can you feed Sam?
Two 2025 reports describe a 24-hour limit between feedings. The available information does not establish whether that timer or its reset behavior remains the same today, so use the cooldown shown in-game rather than planning around the historical figure.
Which food should you cook?
A guide says higher-rarity dishes award more friendship points, but the sources disagree on exact points by food rarity. No dependable numeric recipe ranking follows from those reports. If you want to make progress efficiently, use a higher-rarity cooked dish when convenient, but check the friendship display after feeding rather than assuming a particular point reward.

Fix common problems
- No Feed option appears: Equip and hold a cooked dish before approaching Sam. The reported interaction is not for an unequipped or raw crop.
- You do not have a Cooking Kit: The 2025 guide points to Garden Guide achievements as the way to obtain it.
- Friendship does not increase: Check the in-game cooldown timer. The historical reports say feeding is limited to once every 24 hours, but the live timer takes precedence.
- A seed is missing: Look in the Friendship tab and check its current stock. Historical notes describe restocking, including an hourly schedule in Update 1.21.0, but current inventory timing is not established.
