To play as Johnny Gat in Agents of Mayhem, you need the separate Johnny Gat Agent Pack DLC and must complete Gat’s unlock mission, Operation: Good Cop, Bot Cop. The base game alone does not unlock him.
How to unlock Johnny Gat
- Make sure you own Agents of Mayhem on the platform and account where you plan to play. The Steam listing says the pack requires the base game: Johnny Gat Agent Pack on Steam.
- Get and install the Johnny Gat Agent Pack for that platform and account. It is separate downloadable content, not an automatic reward for progressing through the base game.
- Once the DLC mission is available in your game, select and complete Operation: Good Cop, Bot Cop to recruit Gat. The mission name is reported by the Agents of Mayhem Wiki; a 2017 walkthrough also describes Gat’s operation as gated behind DLC ownership.
The sources establish the DLC requirement and mission completion, but not one exact menu path that applies across every platform, edition, and save state. Player reports say the mission can become available early after installing the pack.

What the Johnny Gat Agent Pack includes
Steam lists the pack as DLC released on September 13, 2017. Along with Johnny Gat and his unlock mission, it includes a personal mission, four agent skins, five weapon skins, one Gremlin tech item, and one vehicle skin. Steam also states: “This content requires the base game Agents of Mayhem on Steam in order to play.”
Store prices and availability can change by region and over time, so check your platform’s official store for the current listing. The Steam page displayed a US price of $4.99 when reviewed; that is not a guaranteed current price.

Check the exact DLC entitlement
Do not assume that preorder-related skins include Gat. A historical GameFAQs support discussion distinguishes the old preorder Gat code from Legal Action Pending, described there as skins DLC. That discussion is useful context, not a current entitlement guide, and it does not confirm that an old code can still be redeemed. Check that your account owns the Johnny Gat Agent Pack specifically.
If the pack appears to be installed but the operation is missing, first verify that it is owned and installed on the same platform and account as the base game. The available sources do not establish a universal troubleshooting menu path or a single mission-availability trigger for every version.
