Buy the Besmirched Frame for 1,500 Murk at the Small Jar Bazaar in Roundtable Hold, then touch the phantom in the hold’s northeast corner and defeat Night Idol. The steps are detailed in PowerPyx’s Revenant unlock guide.
1. Unlock Duchess
Duchess must be playable before the Besmirched Frame appears in the Bazaar, according to PowerPyx. To unlock her, obtain the Old Pocketwatch and give it to the hooded girl in Roundtable Hold. The watch is described as a random reward from the first Expedition and may also be awarded after a failed Expedition. See PowerPyx’s Duchess unlock guide for those steps.

2. Buy the Besmirched Frame
Once Duchess is playable, go to the Small Jar Bazaar in Roundtable Hold and purchase the Besmirched Frame for 1,500 Murk. The official Bandai Namco starter guide describes the Bazaar as a Roundtable Hold shop where players spend Murk.
3. Find the phantom and start the encounter
After buying the frame, look for a yellow exclamation marker in the northeast corner of Roundtable Hold. Interact with the phantom and select “Touch phantom” to enter the boss arena, as described in PowerPyx’s walkthrough.

4. Defeat Night Idol
Defeating Night Idol unlocks Revenant as a playable Nightfarer. If you are defeated, PowerPyx says you can return to the phantom and touch it again to retry the encounter.
