To unlock the Duchess in Elden Ring Nightreign, earn the Old Pocketwatch from a Gladius expedition, then take it to the hooded Priestess in Roundtable Hold. A Gladius victory is reported to guarantee the watch; after a failed attempt, it may appear as a random reward.
How to get the Old Pocketwatch
- Start the Gladius expedition. Gladius, Beast of the Night, is the first Nightlord.
- Check the expedition rewards. Guides report that defeating Gladius guarantees the Old Pocketwatch. If you fail the expedition, the watch may still appear as a random reward, but it is not guaranteed. No fixed drop rate or number of attempts is established. (PowerPyx; RPG Site; Shacknews)
- Return to Roundtable Hold. Speak with the hooded Priestess and choose the dialogue option about the pocketwatch. Hand it over or show it when prompted.
How to make the Duchess selectable
The Priestess’s reveal interaction unlocks the Duchess as a playable Nightfarer. If you do not have the Old Pocketwatch, repeat the Gladius expedition and check the rewards after each attempt. You do not need to assume a failed run will always award it.
