In the original Pokémon Ranger for Nintendo DS, finish the main story, then use Ranger Net to reveal the hidden password-entry option. Enter the password that matches your game’s region, save and restart, then play “Recover the Precious Egg!” to receive Manaphy’s Egg.
Unlock the mission in the original Pokémon Ranger
Nintendo’s manual says Ranger Net appears on the Menu Screen after the game’s ending; special missions are played and unlocked there. Nintendo’s Pokémon Ranger manual

- Finish the main story. Return to the Menu Screen and select Ranger Net.
- Reveal password entry. On the Ranger Net screen showing “Play a special mission,” press R + X + Left on the directional pad simultaneously. The password option should appear.
- Enter the region-matched password. Use the code for your cartridge’s region, then let the game save.

Bulbapedia’s Manaphy Mission reference lists country-specific European passwords and notes that the Japanese version used a special event distribution. If a code is rejected, verify your cartridge’s region and consult a country-specific listing rather than cycling through unrelated codes.
What happens after you complete the mission?
Completing “Recover the Precious Egg!” awards Manaphy’s Egg in Pokémon Ranger. The cited transfer instructions describe sending it to Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl using a second Nintendo DS system. That procedure therefore requires compatible Generation IV destination software as well as the Ranger game; the cited instructions do not establish transfer to later-generation games. Do not use these steps for the Ranger sequels
The password method above is for the original Pokémon Ranger, not Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia or Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs. The sequels used downloadable special missions distributed through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, with historical availability periods. Nintendo UK announced a limited in-store Manaphy code distribution on 29 May 2007; it was historical event access, not an ongoing offer. Nintendo UK’s 2007 announcement The available sources do not establish whether unofficial replacement servers currently provide access to the sequel missions.
