Spoilers: This guide reveals where to use the Secret Garden Key and the room’s drafting restrictions.
Use the Secret Garden Key on a locked door that leads directly to an eligible edge tile in the east or west wing, on ranks 3 through 8 and not at a corner. The key is consumed, and the Secret Garden is drafted immediately instead of offering the usual floorplan choice.

Where to find the Secret Garden Key
The key can appear in several places, but none of the random sources is guaranteed. The listed possibilities are:
- The Attic or Music Room.
- The Lost & Found floorplan.
- The Locksmith, for 8.
- Trunks and rare dig spots.
- The Billiard Room dartboard puzzle.
- The Garage car trunk after using the Upgrade Disk.
These locations and methods are listed by the Blue Prince Wiki’s Secret Garden Key entry; it does not give odds for random appearances.

Which door to use the key on
Check the tile on the other side of the door, not just whether the door is locked. The destination must be an edge position in the east or west wing, at rank 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8. It cannot be a corner.
- Eligible: A locked door leading into a non-corner edge tile in the east or west wing, ranks 3–8.
- Ineligible: A corner, a rank 2 position, or a door whose destination is not an eligible east- or west-wing edge tile.
The wiki also notes that the Great Hall’s side doors do not qualify. A far door can work if it leads to a valid position. If a door’s destination does not meet the conditions, save the key and look for another eligible locked door.

What happens when you use it
Using the key unlocks the selected door, removes the key from your inventory, and drafts the Secret Garden immediately. You do not get the normal floorplan choice for that draft. The Secret Garden is not part of the initial draft pool; the named key is its drafting method, according to the Blue Prince Wiki’s Secret Garden entry.
