To unlock Tiana in Disney Dreamlight Valley, find the Mysterious Cajun Recipe Book in the Glade of Trust and complete Remy’s A Taste for Literature quest. Tiana’s Palace is a separate reward: you need to reach friendship level 2 with Tiana and finish Back from the Bayou.
Before you start: restore the Glade of Trust pillar
The Mysterious Cajun Recipe Book appears behind the pillar in the Glade of Trust after you restore it. If you have not restored the pillar, do that first; otherwise, the book needed for the quest will not be available there. The Dreamlight Valley Wiki lists the restored pillar as a prerequisite: A Taste for Literature quest details.

Complete Remy’s A Taste for Literature quest
- Check your quest log. If A Taste for Literature is not active, look for a letter from Remy in your mailbox titled A Culinary Development! and read it to trigger the quest, as described in the Dexerto walkthrough.
- Find the Mysterious Cajun Recipe Book. Go to the Glade of Trust and pick up the book behind the restored pillar.
- Take the book to Remy. Then ask Moana, Mickey, and Merlin about it.
- Cook Enchanted Shrimp Étouffée. This is the named cooking objective in the quest; prepare it to refresh the villagers’ memories.
- Finish the quest and place Tiana’s home. Completing A Taste for Literature welcomes Tiana to the Valley, and she asks you to place her house.
The exact quest sequence and recipe are described in Dexerto’s walkthrough. If a later patch changes a trigger or objective, follow the current quest text in your game.
Unlock Tiana’s Palace separately
Welcoming Tiana does not automatically open her restaurant. First raise your friendship with her to level 2, then start and complete Back from the Bayou. That separate quest unlocks Tiana’s Palace, according to the Dreamlight Valley Wiki quest listing.

Is Tiana part of a paid expansion?
No expansion is listed as a prerequisite for her character quest. Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Dapper Delights announcement introduced Tiana as part of the free update released August 21, 2024, which it describes as the game’s twelfth free update. The announcement discusses A Rift in Time Act III separately as expansion-pass content.
