Weapon martial arts in Where Winds Meet come from several routes: some are available through the opening story, while others require Skill Theft, sect membership, quests, an Oddity reward, or in-game mail. This guide lists the 12 styles covered by launch-era guides and the four later additions with routes documented for Version 2.2. It is not a verified complete inventory of every current style.
How weapon martial art unlocks work
Learning a martial art and obtaining or equipping its compatible weapon are separate steps: picking up a weapon does not automatically teach the style. Routes vary by style, so check whether the reward comes from a story, quest, sect, mail, Oddity, or Skill Theft activity.
Skill Theft
Skill Theft is an infiltration and observation activity rather than a straightforward fight. The launch-era guide describes entering a sanctum or martial hall, observing a weapon master, then completing a timing mini-game. Its preparation advice includes reaching about level 8, learning Veil of Stillness at Peace Bell Tower in southwest Qinghe, and completing the Echoes of Old Battles side quest at Northern Vow Ruins to obtain Touch of Death. Dragon Keys open mechanisms in some underground sanctums. These are launch-guide tips, not confirmed universal prerequisites for every current mission. See All Things How’s launch-era guide.
Sects and alternate rewards
Some sects grant their signature style after you earn enough trust. Other styles have alternate acquisition routes, such as a direct story reward, completing a questline, receiving an Oddity reward, or claiming mail. Where a listed style has more than one route, either route may provide a way to learn it.
Launch-era routes: 12 styles
The following routes were reported in a guide updated November 20, 2025. They are a launch-era reference, not a complete roster for Version 2.2.

| Infernal Twinblades | Receive it from Qi Cheng, or use Skill Theft at Midnight Mercy Sanctum, southwest of Battlecrest Slope in Qinghe. |
| Vernal Umbrella | Receive it from Qi Cheng, or complete the questline at Temporal Pavilion in Kaifeng. |
| Stormbreaker Spear | Claim the Raging Tides General’s letter from in-game mail after reaching Level 3. |
| Strategic Sword | Use Skill Theft at Lone Cloud Sanctum near Encircling Lake in southwest Qinghe. |
| Heavenquaker Spear | Use Skill Theft at Raging Tides Sanctum in eastern Qinghe, across the river north of Verdant Wilds. |
| Inkwell Fan | Use Skill Theft at Silver Needle Sanctum in north Qinghe, near Bodhi Sea. |
| Soulshade Umbrella | Use Skill Theft in a building west of Mistveil Forest in Kaifeng; enter from above and descend. |
| Mortal Rope Dart | Use disguise-based Skill Theft at the Nine Mortal Ways martial hall in south Kaifeng, involving Lin’s Cosmetics. |

Later additions with Version 2.2 routes
A build planner marked verified for Version 2.2 on October 6, 2026, documents these four later weapon routes. It covers selected additions rather than establishing a complete current unlock list.

These routes are listed in the Where Winds Meet build planner. A separate third-party quick reference also describes Version 2.1 Drunken Fist styles, including Skystrike Gauntlets and Riven Twinblades, but it does not establish the full current roster: Fextralife’s Weapon Martial Arts reference.

For a practical first target, use the route that matches your progress and preferred activity:
- Want a direct, early reward? Follow the main story for Nameless Spear, or check your mail after reaching Level 3 for Stormbreaker Spear.
- Want to pursue Skill Theft? Prepare with the launch guide’s stealth and observation tips, then choose a listed Qinghe or Kaifeng location you can reach.
- Prefer quest progression? Vernal Umbrella, Skygrasp Rope Dart, and Riven Twinblades have reported quest routes.
- Interested in a sect route? The reported Heavenwill Gauntlets options are joining Mohist Hill or using its Universal Love Shop.
Combat roles and pairings can help with build choices, but those descriptions vary between guides and are not a substitute for current in-game testing. The Version 2.2 planner says weapon martial arts can be paired freely; use its pairing information as build guidance, not as an unlock requirement.

How complete is this unlock list?
Launch-era coverage lists 12 styles, while later updates added weapons. The Version 2.2 planner, verified October 6, 2026, supplies routes for four later additions, and a third-party reference shows additional later entries. The available sources do not establish one authoritative, complete Version 2.2 route inventory, so this guide separates launch-era routes from the later routes that are documented rather than labeling the list exhaustive. NetEase’s 2025 description of “over 40 unique Martial Mystic Arts” refers to Martial Mystic Arts broadly, not a count of weapon martial arts; it should not be used as the weapon-style total.
