How to upgrade a weapon
- Open the upgrade option at the Curator or an Expedition Flag, depending on your act.
- Select the character, then choose the weapon you want to improve.
- Review the Chroma cost and the catalyst required for the next level.
- Confirm the upgrade if you want to spend those resources.
Chroma is required for every level. The cost varies by weapon, so use the amount shown in the menu rather than assuming there is one fixed price.

When to invest in a weapon
Weapon upgrades cannot be undone or refunded, according to the cited guide. Before spending a scarce catalyst, consider whether the weapon fits the character’s intended build and attribute scaling, and whether its next level unlocks a passive.

- Levels 20–32 use Grandiose Chroma Catalysts; level 33 uses a Perfect Chroma Catalyst.
- The guide recommends saving those higher-tier catalysts until you have settled on a preferred loadout. That is a practical recommendation, not a guaranteed best strategy for every build.
