If you try it, check the request status and your finances in-game.

Why the exact steps may differ
Hollywood Animal is an Early Access strategy and simulation game, and its upgrade systems have changed over time. Weappy Studio’s official update 0.8.72EA announcement describes shorter research times for many early upgrades, new Film Crew Protection and Retribution upgrades, and the option to cancel technology creation or upgrades. Those changes reinforce that research, facilities, and landscaping are separate parts of studio progression rather than one general “upgrade studio” button.
A Steam Community announcement listing also records a past fix for a mismatch between selected and displayed landscaping levels. That historical fix does not establish a current defect; if the displayed level seems wrong, verify the selected setting in your current build.
