In Dying Light: The Beast, the mechanic players may call Beast Form is referred to as Beast Mode in the consulted gameplay guide. Fight with melee attacks, land perfect dodges or parries, and take damage to fill the red meter below Kyle’s health bar. At first, a full meter triggers the transformation automatically; later, the Beast Controlled skill lets you choose when to activate it.
How Beast Mode works
The red meter beneath Kyle’s health bar builds during combat. Melee fighting, perfect dodges, parries, and taking damage all contribute to filling it. The guide does not give charge amounts for individual actions, so there is no established exact meter rate.

When the meter fills, Kyle transforms automatically and regains health. That automatic trigger is the initial behavior; you cannot rely on choosing the moment until you unlock Beast Controlled.
How to control when you transform
Unlock the Beast Controlled skill to trigger Beast Mode manually. This lets you save the transformation for a moment when its power will be more useful, such as a boss fight, rather than having it activate as soon as the meter fills. The consulted guide does not specify a universal mission requirement or button combination, so check the skill description and your platform’s current in-game controls.

What to do in Beast Mode
Beast Mode gives Kyle powerful melee attacks and abilities. Examples in the gameplay guide include a long-distance leap, an airborne ground smash, and throwing large boulders. For PC, an unofficial fan guide lists the left mouse button for a ground pound while airborne and F plus a direction key to grab and throw. These are PC examples, not universal inputs; check the controls menu for your platform and current bindings.
