How to Use Full Edit Mode in The Sims 4 on PC

To edit a Sim freely in Create a Sim (CAS) on PC, open the cheat console with Ctrl + Shift + C, enter testingcheats true, then cas.fulleditmode. Shift-click the Sim and select Edit in CAS.

Enable full edit mode

1. Open the cheat console. While in the game, press Ctrl + Shift + C. EA documents this shortcut for PC and Mac in its The Sims 4 Cheats FAQ.
2. Enable cheats. Type testingcheats true and press Enter.
3. Turn on full edit mode. Type cas.fulleditmode and press Enter. EA lists this as a Live Mode cheat that opens the Sim character-creation menu.
4. Open the Sim in CAS. Hold Shift, click the Sim you want to edit, and choose Edit in CAS. This specific menu route is described in an EA Forums reply.
5. Make your changes in CAS, then accept them using the on-screen CAS controls.

What full edit mode lets you change

Full edit mode opens the Sim character-creation menu so you can edit the Sim there. The EA Forums reply describes it as allowing changes to the Sim as if creating them for the first time; that broader description comes from a forum user, not EA’s FAQ.

If it does not work

• Make sure you are in the game when you open the console, and press Enter after each command.
• After entering both commands, use the Sim’s Shift-click menu and select Edit in CAS.
• If the console does not open, the cited EA instructions establish Ctrl + Shift + C for PC and Mac but do not document an alternative PC shortcut.

Does this disable PC achievements?

EA’s FAQ warns that enabling testingcheats true disables achievements on the current save for PlayStation and Xbox. That warning is explicitly about console platforms; the FAQ does not say that using this cheat disables achievements on PC.
