To use a pattern in Infinity Nikki, open the DIY Workshop from Pear-Pal or choose Dye on the Wardrobe screen, then select a clothing piece that supports patterns. Choose a pattern-capable area, apply an unlocked pattern, and adjust its density or transparency if those controls are available. Not every clothing piece supports patterns.
Where to find the pattern controls
The feature is officially called the DIY Workshop. You can enter its dyeing interface in either of two ways, as described in Infold Games’ Version 1.5 Update Notice:
- Open Pear-Pal and select DIY Workshop.
- Open the Wardrobe and select Dye.
How to apply a pattern
- Open the DIY Workshop using either route above.
- Select a clothing piece that supports patterns. The option is available only for certain pieces.
- Select the relevant area of the item, then choose an unlocked pattern available for that piece.
- Use the available controls to adjust the pattern, its density, or its transparency, then preview the result. Which controls are available depends on the item and selected area, according to Infold Games’ DIY Workshop & Glow-Up Feature Guide.
If a pattern looks faint, an independent GamerBlurb walkthrough suggests trying more contrasting dye colors. This is a visual suggestion, not a required setting.
How to get patterns
Infold Games says patterns can be obtained through permanent gameplay features on Serenity Island and through Random Quests in the open world. Check the live game for the currently available activities and rewards. The same Version 1.5 guide also described a limited-time Rainbow and Pattern event in 2025; that event window has passed, so it is not a current way to obtain patterns.

Why the pattern option may be missing
- The selected clothing piece may not support patterns. Pattern application is limited to certain pieces; try another item.
- The item or palette may be locked. Infold Games’ Version 2.4 Update Notice says the interface was updated with clearer compatibility indicators for Dye effects, Patterns, and Special Effects, along with warnings for unobtained clothing and locked palettes.
- The pattern may not be unlocked. Check the game’s available gameplay activities and quests for pattern rewards.
An independent walkthrough mentions Glimmer Threads as a possible route, but Infold Games’ cited notices do not confirm which patterns that route unlocks or whether it remains available. Check the current client before relying on it.

Scene Preview, documented in Infold Games’ Version 2.8 Update Notice, lets you preview a design using Nikki’s current location, move and turn the camera, and choose among four lighting conditions. It can help you inspect how a finished look appears in a scene; it is separate from unlocking or applying patterns.
