First identify what you mean by “YouTube streaming server”: paying for YouTube Premium, paying a Google Cloud bill, and setting up a YouTube Live stream are different tasks. For YouTube Premium in India, UPI is supported and you may see PhonePe or Google Pay at checkout; for Google Cloud UPI billing, eligibility is limited to qualifying organizations. You do not buy a server from YouTube to start a live stream.
Which YouTube service are you trying to pay for?
“YouTube streaming server” is not a specific YouTube product name. Check the bill or service name before entering payment details:

Payment options differ by service, account eligibility, country and billing platform. Google cautions that the options available for YouTube can vary by country and by how the subscription is billed (YouTube Premium payment methods).
Pay for YouTube Premium with UPI
Google Play India documents UPI as a payment method for subscriptions and UPI AutoPay for recurring subscriptions such as YouTube Premium (Accepted payment methods on Google Play – India). PhonePe and Google Pay are UPI apps, but neither is guaranteed to appear as a named button in every checkout.

- Open YouTube or Google Play while signed in to the account that will have the subscription.
- Start or renew YouTube Premium and proceed to the payment step.
- Select UPI if it is offered. Follow the checkout prompts to choose or enter your UPI app/account. Use PhonePe or Google Pay only if it is available among the presented options.
- For a recurring subscription, review the UPI AutoPay mandate: check the payee, amount, billing frequency and mandate terms before approving it in the UPI app.
- Return to YouTube or Google Play and confirm that checkout reports the subscription as active.
Google historically named PhonePe and Google Pay among preferred UPI apps for Google Play in a 2019 announcement; that historical reference is not a promise that either app will be offered in every current checkout (Google India Blog, 2019). Follow the options displayed in your own payment flow.
If PhonePe or Google Pay is not offered
- Check the payment methods shown in the current YouTube or Google Play checkout; availability can depend on the billing platform and account.
- Do not approve a mandate from a different merchant or for a different amount than the one shown in checkout.
- Google Play India says netbanking was discontinued as an accepted payment method from October 2025 until further notice; payment-method availability can change, so consult its current help page rather than relying on an older saved checkout guide.
Paying Google Cloud UPI billing in India
If you are paying for a Google Cloud virtual machine or other cloud usage, this is a Cloud Billing payment—not a YouTube Premium payment. Google Cloud lists UPI for qualifying organizations in India that pay in INR. Its requirements include an Indian billing address and bank account, plus a configured and registered UPI account. The page also specifies an initial prepayment, typically ₹500–₹1,000, before UPI can be used; this is a setup requirement, not a recurring service price (Use UPI for Google Cloud payments).

- Confirm that your Cloud Billing account meets Google’s organization, INR and India requirements.
- In Google Cloud Console, open Billing and go to the payment-method settings for the relevant billing account.
- Add UPI and complete Google’s requested account configuration and registration steps.
- Make the required initial prepayment when prompted. Google describes both manual payment and monthly recurring payment options; choose only an option shown as available for your account.
- Check the billing account’s payment status and transaction record in Cloud Billing after authorization.
These instructions do not establish that every personal Google Cloud account qualifies. If UPI is unavailable in the billing account, use the payment methods Google displays for that account or consult the account-specific billing help (Add, remove, or update a payment method).
YouTube Live uses a stream URL and key, not a server purchase
If you want to broadcast gameplay or another live feed, YouTube’s encoder workflow is a setup process rather than a purchase of a YouTube streaming server. Create or schedule a live stream in YouTube Studio, copy the stream URL and stream key, enter those into your encoder, then start the encoder to send the feed to YouTube (Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder). YouTube’s settings help says, “You’ll create a stream key in YouTube, and then enter it into your encoder” (Manage live stream settings).

- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and open its stream settings.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not publish or share it.
- In your encoder, paste the URL into the server/URL field and the key into the stream-key field.
- Start streaming from the encoder and check the YouTube Studio preview/status before making the broadcast public.
This does not create a server bill with YouTube. If a third-party provider is keeping prerecorded videos live continuously, payment happens with that provider, not through YouTube’s encoder setup.

Quick checks before you pay
- Read the merchant and product name on the checkout screen: YouTube Premium, Google Cloud and an independent streaming service are separate bills.
- Confirm whether the payment is one-time, manual/prepaid or recurring before authorizing it.
- For UPI AutoPay, review the mandate details in your UPI app. For Cloud Billing UPI, confirm account eligibility and the prepayment requirement with Google Cloud.
- For a YouTube Live setup, use the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio; do not pay someone claiming YouTube requires you to buy a “YouTube server” unless you have independently verified that third-party service.
