How to Use Weapon Amplifications in ARC Raiders

Weapon Amplification in ARC Raiders requires Outpost and station progression, a tier IV weapon and a matching-rarity module. Here’s how the Gunsmith and Research Workstation fit together.

To amplify a weapon in ARC Raiders, progress your Raider Outpost and its Gunsmith and Research Station to level 4, bring a tier IV weapon and a matching-rarity Amplification Module to the Gunsmith, then use the Research Workstation to unlock an upgrade type and purchase nodes on the weapon. Amplification is a branching upgrade system—not a single consumable or a guaranteed flat damage boost—and some branch choices can rule out others. The exact costs, available nodes and balance may change, so check the live station interfaces before committing materials.

If you are asking where to amplify a weapon, start at the Gunsmith’s Weapon Upgrades menu; the Research Workstation handles the research that unlocks upgrade types and subsequent weapon nodes. The route also involves Outpost progression, a tier IV weapon, and an Amplification Module whose mark matches that weapon’s rarity.

What Weapon Amplification does

Weapon Amplification adds branching upgrades intended to change how a weapon behaves. Embark Studios described it as a system accessed through the Research Workstation in the Raider Outpost, with an initial rollout planned for 15 weapons and more intended afterward. The examples in the feature description illustrate the range: a fully automatic Burletta, a scoped Renegade, or a Rattler with incendiary rounds and a 64-round drum magazine.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Those examples are illustrations of the system’s potential, not a complete current list of available upgrades or a promise that every option remains unchanged. The practical result depends on the particular weapon, the researched upgrade type and the nodes offered in its current tree. Do not assume every weapon can take every example upgrade, or that an old list describes the current tree.

It is useful to distinguish three parts of the process. The Gunsmith provides the weapon’s amplification entry point. The Research Workstation unlocks upgrade types after you meet its requirements. Finally, you buy available nodes for an individual weapon using the materials listed for those nodes. Amplification therefore is not just a matter of carrying a module and clicking a single upgrade button; it involves progression, research and weapon-specific choices.

Requirements before you can amplify a weapon

  • Raider Outpost progression: The current guide-reported route requires the Outpost to be expanded to level 4.
  • Level 4 stations: Upgrade both the Gunsmith and Research Station to level 4. The Gunsmith’s final station upgrade is reported to require an Emperor Modulator, among other materials; check the live interface for the full, current cost.
  • A tier IV weapon: The weapon you want to amplify must be tier IV, according to the current guide.
  • A matching Amplification Module: The module mark must correspond to the weapon’s rarity. Confirm the module tooltip and weapon rarity before using or taking one into a raid.
  • Research points, ARC parts and node materials: Research unlocks upgrade types, while individual weapon nodes have their own listed material costs.

These requirements are progression gates, not steps that can be skipped by carrying a module. The Gunsmith handles the weapon’s amplification entry point; the Research Workstation is where upgrade types are researched and weapon nodes are purchased.

Think of the requirements as separate checks rather than one combined unlock. Outpost expansion allows station progression; each station’s level determines what its own interface permits; the weapon has its own tier prerequisite; and the module has a rarity match. Research and node costs are another layer after access is available. If one part is missing, pause and confirm what that interface asks for instead of spending time collecting an item that cannot yet be used for the intended weapon.

Exact upgrade costs are not fixed in this guide. The level-up requirements, research-point total, ARC parts and individual node materials should all be read from the current Gunsmith or Research Station screens. The Gunsmith’s Emperor Modulator requirement is an example of why a general materials list can be incomplete: that item is reported as one of several costs for its final upgrade, not as the entire cost of amplification.

How to amplify a weapon

  1. Unlock the Raider Outpost. The guide-reported three-stage project involves photographing a farmland house near Ruined Homestead on Blue Gate, handing in construction materials, and then dealing damage to flying ARC and a Bully. Follow the project objectives shown in your game, since objective details can change.
  2. Expand the Outpost to level 4. The guide says this expansion enables level IV station upgrades.
  3. Upgrade the Gunsmith and Research Station to level 4. Use each station’s upgrade interface to see its current material requirements. Do not assume an older list of costs still applies.
  4. Bring the target weapon to tier IV. Check its tier in the game before gathering a module or planning a research spend.
  5. At the Gunsmith, open Weapon Upgrades and choose Amplify. Select an Amplification Module whose mark matches the weapon’s rarity. Read the confirmation screen before using the module.
  6. At the level 4 Research Station, complete the research required for an upgrade type. Pay the points and ARC parts displayed for that research option. The workstation unlocks upgrade types; it does not automatically buy every weapon node.
  7. Return to the weapon’s upgrade tree and choose available nodes. Review each node’s prerequisites, material cost and any branch-exclusivity warning before confirming. Choose only the nodes that support the way you intend to use the weapon.

Before beginning, decide which weapon you are actually building around. Check its tier and rarity, then look at the module mark you need. This prevents a common planning mistake: collecting a module without knowing whether it matches the intended gun. If you have several potential targets, compare their displayed trees and decide which one is worth the station, research and material commitment first.

When you reach the Amplify option at the Gunsmith, treat the confirmation screen as a final materials check. Read the module requirements and any displayed consequences rather than assuming the module is a generic inventory consumable. Afterward, use the Research Workstation to identify a desired upgrade type and its displayed requirements. Confirm that you can afford the required research points and ARC parts before committing, and remember that unlocking an upgrade type is distinct from buying every node connected to it.

For each weapon node, read the whole option, not just its name. The available tree may show prerequisites, material costs and whether another route is excluded. Decide how the node fits with the upgrade type you unlocked and the way you use the weapon. If a desired follow-on node depends on an earlier choice, check that sequence before purchasing the first node. This avoids spending on an appealing standalone improvement only to discover that it does not lead to the path you wanted.

Where to find Amplification Modules

The current guide reports two sources: the Frigate and the inside of the fallen Emperor on Pendola Pass. It describes modules from Mk. I through Mk. V as corresponding to weapon rarity from common through legendary. These are guide-reported locations and matching rules, not guaranteed drop rates or permanent spawn promises; the current game’s module tooltip and live loot conditions should take precedence.

Before going out for a module, identify the weapon and rarity you want to amplify. Then check the module’s mark and tooltip when you find one. A module of the wrong mark is not the right match for your target, so avoid risking a valuable raid solely on the assumption that any module will work.

The listed sites are useful leads, but the available information does not establish drop rates, guaranteed spawns or a reliable route to a particular mark. Do not plan a run around an assumed certainty. If the module is valuable to your intended build, verify its mark in the inventory and check current in-game loot conditions. The Mk. I–V description gives a rarity correspondence, but the tooltip is the safer final check for an individual item and weapon.

How to choose an upgrade branch

There is no evidence-supported universal best branch. Compare the intended job of the weapon and the trade-offs displayed by its current tree. A change that suits fighting ARC may not be the best choice for encounters with other Raiders, and a handling or magazine change can matter as much as raw damage for your playstyle.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Target: Decide whether the build is meant for ARC armor or weak points, other Raiders, or a utility role.
  • Firing and handling: Check whether a node changes firing behavior, aiming or other handling characteristics, then consider whether that fits how you use the weapon.
  • Magazine and reload: A larger or altered magazine can change how long you can fire before reloading; weigh that benefit against any reload or other trade-offs shown in the tree.
  • Branch restrictions: Some choices may be mutually exclusive. Read the prerequisites and exclusivity information before spending, especially when a node would commit you to one path.
  • Research and materials: Compare the research-point, ARC-part and node-material costs shown in the live interface. A path is only practical if you can afford its unlocks and the follow-on nodes you actually want.
  • Raid risk and durability: Consider whether you are willing to take the upgraded weapon into a raid where it could be lost or damaged, and check current repair rules.

Use the actual in-game tree to make the decision rather than relying on a general list of “best” upgrades: available options and balance are patch-sensitive, and weapon-specific examples may not reflect the current version.

A practical comparison starts with the job you expect the gun to do. If the priority is fighting ARC, inspect whether a path appears to support use against armor or weak points. If the priority is other Raiders, consider what its firing behavior, aiming and magazine changes mean in those encounters. For utility, assess whether the displayed effect supports the role you have in mind. These are comparison questions, not a guarantee that a particular node is best for any target.

Next, compare the whole branch rather than a single enticing effect. A scoped or automatic configuration changes how a weapon behaves; an altered magazine may affect firing intervals and reload decisions. Look at the firing and handling characteristics together with magazine and reload trade-offs. Then ask whether the path’s prerequisites and costs fit your plan. If a choice blocks another route, the opportunity cost matters: the branch you do not take may have been a better match for a different job or a later change in playstyle.

Finally, compare affordability and risk. Count the displayed research and material requirements for the upgrade type and the nodes you actually want, not every node in the tree. Consider whether the weapon’s durability and the possibility of losing it make this a suitable raid loadout. Without current testing and a stated playstyle, calling one path universally strongest would be misleading. The live tree and the task you need the weapon to perform are the more useful decision tools.

Durability: what to check before a raid

A current guide reports that amplified weapons gain maximum durability and that weapons looted from another player have very little durability remaining. Treat both as current guide-reported mechanics, not permanent guarantees. The practical question is whether the weapon’s present durability, repair needs and potential loss are acceptable for the raid you are about to enter.

Do not base a decision on a specific durability number or assumed repair cost without checking the weapon and repair interface in your current game. If you are testing a new branch, decide whether the benefit is worth putting an expensive upgraded weapon at risk, and verify its condition before deployment.

Durability belongs in the build decision because the value of an upgrade depends on being able to use the weapon. Check the displayed condition before a raid and confirm what the current repair interface says, rather than relying on an older number or assuming the repair economy is unchanged. If you loot an amplified weapon from another player, the reported low remaining durability means you should inspect it before treating it as ready for extended use.

Likewise, do not treat increased maximum durability as protection against all raid risk. A higher maximum is not the same as an assurance that the weapon cannot be damaged or lost. Decide whether you want to carry the upgraded weapon on the next run, especially if you are still learning its changed behavior or testing a branch. Patch-sensitive repair rules and durability values should be checked in game before you base a costly loadout decision on them.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Trying to amplify before meeting the progression gates: Confirm Outpost and station levels and the weapon’s tier before spending time searching for modules.
  • Using a mismatched module: Compare its mark with the weapon’s rarity instead of assuming modules are interchangeable.
  • Confusing research with node purchases: Research unlocks upgrade types; weapon-specific nodes still require their own materials.
  • Spending before checking branch exclusivity: Inspect prerequisites and mutually exclusive options first. A later preferred route may not remain available after a choice.
  • Relying on stale costs or drop information: Station requirements, loot availability, weapon trees and durability rules can change. Use the current in-game interfaces as the final reference.

Another avoidable error is planning around a single item without accounting for the entire sequence. A matching module does not replace Outpost or station progression, and completing research does not mean every weapon node is free or already purchased. Verify each gate in its own interface: station upgrades, weapon tier, module mark, research requirements and node costs.

Do not make a branch choice solely because an example sounds powerful. The official feature examples show how different weapon behavior can be, but they are not a current list of guaranteed options. Your own weapon’s tree is the relevant list. Check restrictions and costs before purchase, particularly when the choice is exclusive, and avoid assuming an older guide’s branch or drop details remain exact after a patch.

What to verify in the live game

The operational details above—including the Outpost objectives, level requirements, module sources and durability behavior—come from a current third-party guide, while Embark Studios’ feature announcement establishes the system’s purpose, workstation location, illustrative weapon changes and initial scope. As checked on October 13, 2026, exact live costs, every available weapon path, drop rates and patch-sensitive mechanics are not established here. Confirm the requirements shown at the Gunsmith and Research Station and the details attached to the module and weapon before spending materials or entering a raid.

Embark’s announcement describes the system as “a branching path of abilities and enhancements to your weapons that can completely change their behavior.” It does not identify a named speaker in the retrieved passage, so the wording should be attributed to Embark Studios rather than to an individual developer. The stated 15 weapons is the planned initial feature scope, not a performance statistic or a complete count of every weapon currently eligible.

On October 13, 2026, the safe practical approach is to treat the current station screens and item tooltips as authoritative for your session. Confirm the Outpost project objectives, the materials for both level 4 station upgrades, the target weapon’s tier, the module mark, research requirements, node costs and branch restrictions. Check durability and repair information again before deployment. This keeps the guide’s reported route useful without mistaking guide details for guarantees that cannot be verified in the live game.
