How to wall jump with Cling Grip
- Move Hornet against a wall until she clings to it.
- Press the control assigned to Jump to launch away from the wall.
The Hollow Knight Wiki’s Cling Grip page describes pressing Jump while clinging as the wall-launch action. The ability is also needed for some platforming sections.
Where the layout allows, you can alternate between opposing walls to gain height. The available descriptions do not specify exact timing or establish that every wall surface can be climbed, so follow the game’s on-screen behavior rather than assuming all walls work alike.
Which button should you press?
Use the control currently assigned to Jump, rather than relying on a universal button name. The default mapping differs between PC and console, and the controls can be remapped. Check the game’s Controls menu for the Jump binding if the expected input does not work. The Silksong controls page identifies Jump as the input for bouncing off walls with Cling Grip.

How to get Cling Grip
Gamer Guides’ wall-jump walkthrough reports that Cling Grip is obtained in Shellwood after defeating Sister Splinter. This is a secondary guide’s route, not a sequence confirmed by Team Cherry in the sources cited here.
