The NHK Mile Cup missions in Umamusume: Pretty Derby ran from August 10, 2025, at 22:00 UTC through August 17, 2025, at 14:59 UTC. They are expired; the official notice says missions cannot be attempted after their availability period, and the sources available do not confirm a rerun. If they return, plan for two April mile races in the Classic year and the NHK Mile Cup in May, while protecting progress from Career retries.

Are the NHK Mile missions available now?

No. The English-version event ran August 10–17, 2025 UTC, and its official announcement says players cannot attempt a mission after its availability period ends. The announcement also says unclaimed rewards become unavailable when the period ends. The reviewed sources do not establish that these missions have returned.

The announcement’s timing rule matters if the event is rerun: “Limited-time missions can only be cleared if the conditions are fulfilled after the time when the relevant mission is added.” Career progress made before a mission appears does not count toward it.

What were the missions and rewards?

Archived mission reports list eight objectives. The four Career completion milestones stack, so a completed run contributes toward the one-, three-, five-, and ten-run counts as appropriate.

The archived reports give total rewards of 40,000 Monies, 10,000 Support Points, two Alarm Clocks, and 150 Carats. These were event rewards; they cannot be claimed now that the stated mission period has ended.

Which races should you target?

The archived schedule guide places both the Arlington Cup and New Zealand Trophy in the first half of April in the Classic year, followed by the NHK Mile Cup in the first half of May. The NHK Mile Cup is a Classic G1 at Tokyo on turf over 1,600 meters.

  • Arlington Cup: target a top-three finish in the Classic-year April race.
  • New Zealand Trophy: target a top-three finish in the Classic-year April race.
  • NHK Mile Cup: win the Classic-year May race.

These dates and race details come from an archived secondary guide, so use the trainee’s in-game Career schedule to confirm availability and avoid conflicting required objectives.

How to plan a run if the missions return

  1. Wait until the missions are active. Start runs after the relevant mission is added; earlier accomplishments do not qualify under the official notice’s rule.
  2. Choose a trainee suited to turf mile racing. Prioritize mile aptitude and enough Speed for your training plan, then check whether the trainee can enter the target races in Career.
  3. Check the Classic-year calendar. Plan to enter the Arlington Cup and New Zealand Trophy in April, then continue toward the NHK Mile Cup in May, adjusting around the trainee’s required Career goals.
  4. Combine race objectives with completion milestones. Since Career completion counts accumulate across runs, target the placement and win objectives during runs that also advance the one-, three-, five-, or ten-run milestones.
  5. Do not use Continue to retry a Career race if preserving mission progress matters. The official notice says a Continue retry erases conditions achieved in the original attempt. A retry can therefore undo mission credit from that race.
  6. Claim rewards before the deadline. The official notice says unclaimed rewards become unavailable when the mission period ends.

Which trainees are possible candidates?

An archived guide names El Condor Pasa, Grass Wonder, and Silence Suzuka as options for the April races. For the NHK Mile Cup it lists El Condor Pasa, Daiwa Scarlet, Grass Wonder, Vodka, Silence Suzuka, and Maruzensky. Treat these as a shortlist, not a guarantee that every trainee can enter every race or win it: availability depends on Career goals and the trainee’s schedule.

There is no validated head-to-head test in the cited material that establishes one candidate as objectively best. Compare your available trainees by turf and mile aptitude, race availability, compatibility between running style and your support-card/training setup, and whether the April races conflict with required goals. The guide’s early-career stat advice is not an official threshold, and no particular stat total guarantees a win.
