Download the Windows driver from Huion’s official Download Center. Choose the exact name of your Huion pen tablet or pen display, download the Windows package, and install it before connecting the hardware. A clean install means removing existing Huion and other-brand tablet drivers, restarting Windows, closing drawing apps, extracting the package, and running its installer as administrator. Connect the tablet only after setup finishes, then confirm that the Huion driver panel detects it.
Huion describes the driver as “a bridge between your drawing tablet and your computer.” It translates pen pressure, shortcut keys, and other hardware input so Windows and creative applications can use them.

Choose the correct Huion Windows driver
Huion publishes model-specific downloads rather than one universal driver. The Download Center separates pen tablets from pen displays and lists Windows, macOS, and Linux packages where supported. Type or select the complete model name printed on the tablet, its box, or its label; similar names can refer to different hardware and driver packages.

- Read the exact model designation on the rear label or original packaging. Include suffixes such as “V2” when shown.
- In the selector, open the matching product page and verify that the product image and name match your hardware.
- Choose the Windows entry, not the macOS or Linux file. Huion may show an older Windows release on the same page when one is available.
- Do not compare version numbers between different tablet models. The newest number for one model is not automatically correct for another.
The current release is presented dynamically in Huion’s selector, so a universal version number cannot be given reliably. If the newest package fails on your system, the model page’s older-driver entry can provide a controlled fallback.

Prepare Windows for a clean installation
Conflicting tablet software is a frequent reason for failed setup or a driver panel that says “No devices connected.” Huion’s installation guidance starts with removal of existing tablet drivers and a restart.
Before running the installer
- Save work and close Photoshop, Clip Studio, Medibang Paint, Blender, Cinema 4D, and every other drawing or 3D application.
- Disconnect the Huion tablet or pen display from USB. Leave it unplugged until the installation is complete.
- Open Windows’ installed-apps or Programs and Features list and remove any existing Huion driver. Remove an older driver from another tablet brand as well if you no longer need it.
- Restart Windows after uninstalling. This clears driver services that may otherwise remain active.
- Download the package only from the model’s entry in Huion’s official center. Keep the downloaded archive in a location you can find, such as Downloads.
Huion’s guide says to turn antivirus protection off temporarily if it blocks installation. Treat that as a troubleshooting step, not a permanent setting: disconnect from untrusted networks, install the official package, and turn protection back on immediately afterward.
Install the Huion driver on Windows 11 or Windows 10
The same clean sequence applies to Huion’s documented Windows driver generations V20, V15, V14, V13, and V12. Labels and screens can vary slightly between releases.

- Extract the download. If the file is a ZIP archive, right-click it in File Explorer, choose Extract All, and open the extracted folder. Do not run an installer from inside a compressed archive.
- Start with administrator rights. Right-click the Huion setup file and choose Run as administrator. Approve the Windows permission prompt.
- Accept the agreement. Read the license screen, accept it, and continue through the setup wizard.
- Keep the tablet disconnected. Do not plug in the tablet while files and services are being installed. Connecting early can leave the panel in an undetected state.
- Complete setup. Allow the installer to copy its files and register the Huion driver. If Windows asks to restart, restart before connecting the device.
- Reconnect after installation. Plug the tablet directly into the computer and wait several seconds. Open the Huion driver panel and check that the device name appears instead of “No devices connected.”
- Test the hardware. Move the pen, test pressure in a drawing application, and press a shortcut key. A pen cursor that moves but has no pressure usually indicates an application setting or a conflicting driver rather than a defective display.
If setup stops or Windows blocks it
Close the wizard, restart Windows, and run the extracted installer again with Run as administrator. Confirm that no other tablet driver remains installed and that the tablet is still disconnected. If security software quarantines a file, restore protection after the test and obtain a fresh package from the exact model page rather than using a file from an unofficial mirror.
What to do when Huion says “Device disconnected”
“Device disconnected” and “No devices connected” mean the Huion panel cannot communicate with the hardware. Work through software and physical checks in that order.
1. Reinstall the exact model driver
- Uninstall the current Huion driver and any conflicting tablet-brand driver.
- Restart Windows.
- Return to Huion’s Download Center and select the full model name again.
- Extract the new package, run the installer as administrator, and leave the tablet unplugged until setup ends.
- Reconnect the tablet and reopen the Huion panel.
2. Check the USB path
- Unplug and firmly reconnect both ends of a removable USB cable.
- Try another USB port on the computer. A direct port is preferable to a hub while diagnosing detection.
- Inspect the cable for cuts, bent connectors, or a loose fit. If the model uses a detachable cable, test a known-good compatible cable.
- If possible, test the tablet on another Windows computer. Detection on a second computer points toward the original PC’s driver, port, or Windows configuration.
After each change, close and reopen the Huion panel and look for the device name. Do not install a firmware package as a substitute for repeating the driver installation; firmware and drivers perform different jobs.

3. Resolve a driver that worked until a restart
Huion’s update history includes fixes for cases where the pen stopped working after Windows restarted. If that is your symptom, remove the existing package, restart, and install the current package listed for your model. Check that the Huion service and panel start normally after the next reboot before opening your art application.
4. Check application-specific behavior
Huion’s update log also records compatibility fixes involving Adobe applications, Medibang Paint, Clip Studio, Blender, and Cinema 4D. If the pen works in the Huion panel or a simple Windows test but fails in one program, close that program during installation, then test again after restarting it. Confirm that the application is using the Huion tablet input option rather than a conflicting legacy or Windows Ink setting; the exact option name depends on the application and driver generation.
Driver generations and simultaneous devices
Huion documents several Windows driver generations. The generation shown on your model’s download page is the one to follow; do not select a generation solely because its number is higher.

The capacity figures are procedural limits from Huion’s guides, not independent performance measurements. If several tablets are attached and detection becomes unreliable, disconnect all but the device you are configuring, reinstall its model-specific driver, and add other compatible devices one at a time.

A Windows driver lets the operating system communicate with the tablet. Firmware is software stored on the tablet itself. Huion’s Download Center explicitly lists them separately and provides a Firmware Update Tool for Windows; installing firmware does not replace the Windows driver.
When firmware may matter
Huion lists the H430P, H640P, H950P, H1060P, and H610Pro V2 among models that can gain Android compatibility after a firmware update. That Android capability does not mean the tablet can work on Windows without its normal model-specific driver. Use the firmware tool only when Huion’s instructions identify your exact model and the update addresses your issue.

Choosing between the newest and an older driver
Start with the newest Windows package shown for your exact model. A newer release may include fixes for restart failures, antivirus-related disabling of HuionTabletCore.exe, or compatibility with creative software. If the newest release causes a regression, the same model page may expose an older version.
- Record the version currently installed in the Huion panel or Windows’ installed-apps list.
- Uninstall it and restart Windows before trying another release.
- Install one older package at a time, with the tablet disconnected during setup.
- Test detection, pen pressure, shortcut keys, and your main application before changing anything else.
Keep only the version that works for your model and applications. Mixing files from different generations or models can recreate the “No devices connected” condition.
