Humble Choice is the better deal when several games in the current month are ones you want, you do not already own them, and their Steam Deck compatibility suits you. Steam sales are usually the better fit when you want a few specific titles and would rather buy only those. Compare the cost of the games you will actually play—not a bundle’s advertised total value—with the live sale prices in your region.
How to decide between Choice and a Steam sale
The key question is not which option has the bigger discount. It is which lets you acquire the games you want, in a form you can use on your Steam Deck, for the lower effective cost.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- List the games you would genuinely play. For Choice, count only titles in the current month’s lineup that interest you. For Steam, use the specific games on your wishlist.
- Remove games you already own. A duplicate may still be giftable or otherwise useful, depending on the current offer’s terms, but do not count it as value for your own library unless you have a use for it.
- Check Steam Deck compatibility for each title. A low price does not make a game a good buy if its current rating or listed caveats do not fit your tolerance for setup and troubleshooting.
- Compare live checkout prices. Use the price shown to you for Choice and each wanted game on Steam, including your region’s currency and applicable taxes. Offers and prices change.
If several wanted, compatible, unowned games make up the Choice lineup, the monthly bundle may offer stronger value. If only one title appeals, compare its individual Steam price with the live Choice checkout cost rather than treating the bundle’s full retail-value figure as savings.
When Humble Choice makes more sense
You want several games in the current lineup
Choice is most compelling when multiple games are priorities for you. The useful comparison is the monthly checkout cost against what you would otherwise pay for those same games—not the stated value of every title in the bundle.

You have few or no duplicates
Games you already own should not inflate your personal estimate of a bundle’s worth. A community Steam curator’s Humble Choice tag groups games by the month in which they appeared, which can help identify bundle history, but it is not Humble’s own terms or a definitive current offer list: Steam Curator: Humble Choice Tag.
The games suit your Deck setup
Check each game’s current compatibility status and any notes before deciding that the lineup works for your handheld. A bundle can be financially attractive yet poorly suited to the way you use your Deck if several titles require workarounds or do not run acceptably for you.

When Steam sales make more sense
You want only a few specific games
Steam sales let you choose individual titles instead of paying for a monthly set. This is often the clearer choice when your wishlist is short, you already own many games in a bundle, or most of the month’s lineup does not interest you.

If your target game is not discounted to a price you like, waiting for a future sale may be preferable to buying a bundle mainly to get that one title. There is no guarantee that a sale will beat the bundle’s effective cost, so compare the actual prices when both options are available.

What Steam Deck ratings tell you
Valve lists four Steam Deck compatibility categories: Verified, Playable, Unsupported and Unknown. Valve describes Verified games as working well out of the box. Playable games may require manual adjustments—for example, choosing a community controller layout or using the touchscreen for a launcher. The rating is a useful signal, not a permanent guarantee: Valve says its compatibility review is ongoing. See Valve’s Steam Deck Verified page and check the individual game’s current store-page details.
- Verified: Valve’s strongest signal for a straightforward Deck experience.
- Playable: The game may work, but expect possible setup or control adjustments described in its compatibility details.
- Unsupported: Treat this as a warning that the title does not currently meet Valve’s supported experience criteria.
- Unknown: Valve has not established a compatibility rating; do not interpret the missing rating as proof that the game works or fails.
For a current set of games and prices, a Steam community curator listed an October 2026 Humble Choice bundle with an expiration date of November 4, 2026, alongside individual Steam prices and discounts: Steam Curator: Humble Bundle’s Bundles. Treat that as a pointer for checking the offer, not as final authority on membership terms, redemption formats or every current price.

Check the price and terms that apply to you
Price claims need a date and region. Laptop Mag reported on June 27, 2025 that Humble Choice’s US monthly price was scheduled to rise from $11.99 to $14.99 starting in July 2025. That dated report does not establish the price in October 2026 or the checkout price in other regions. See Laptop Mag’s report, then use the current regional checkout before comparing costs.

Do not assume every Choice game uses the same redemption method or that every title is supplied as a Steam key. Check the current month’s official listing and the terms for the specific games before subscribing. Similarly, check the Steam store price for each target title: a sale discount is not automatically deeper than the bundle’s effective per-game cost.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
