To join friends on Hypixel, connect to the server in Minecraft Java Edition on PC or Mac, then invite them with /p [name]—or accept their in-game party invitation. Ordinary invitation-based parties are available to all Hypixel players; MVP++ is not required.
Connect to Hypixel first
Hypixel’s supported route is Minecraft Java Edition on PC or Mac. Its server address is mc.hypixel.net. Hypixel says Windows 10, Pocket Edition, and console editions do not work for joining its server. See Hypixel’s server-joining guide for the connection steps.
- Open Minecraft Java Edition and select Multiplayer.
- Add a server using
mc.hypixel.netas the server address. - Select the Hypixel server in the list and join.
Invite a friend to your party
Once you are in a Hypixel lobby, invite your friend by entering /p [name], replacing [name] with their Minecraft in-game name. The longer equivalent is /party invite [player]. An invitation creates or adds players to a party, and the inviter becomes its leader.
Your friend should accept the invitation in game. Hypixel’s guide does not establish one universal command for accepting, so follow the prompt shown in the game rather than relying on an assumed command.

Join a friend who already has a party
Ask the party leader to invite your in-game name with /p [name] or /party invite [player], then accept the in-game invitation. Regular private parties do not require MVP++ rank.
Check the party and play together
The party leader chooses games and can bring members to the leader’s server with /party warp. Use these commands to manage or communicate with the group:

Optional: public parties and voice chat
Public parties
Hypixel’s /stream feature creates a public party and is limited to MVP++ players. The leader can set the party size from 2 to 100; other players can join using the generated /party join <NAME> command. This is separate from the ordinary private invitation route.
Voice chat through official Discord
For voice chat, Hypixel points players to its official Discord. The linking process requires a Hypixel Forums account linked to your Minecraft account. In a Hypixel lobby, run /discord and follow the account-linking and Discord authorization steps. Use Hypixel’s official Discord link: hypixel.net/discord.

If an invite or connection seems suspicious
Use official Hypixel domains, enable two-factor authentication for your Microsoft account, and do not enter login details through an unfamiliar link. Hypixel warns that fake Discord invitations and unofficial modifications can put accounts or devices at risk. Do not download a mod from a stranger as a fix for joining a party.
