Where to find Goldenwood in Hytale
Zone 4 is the best place to begin. In its April 2, 2026 Update 5 notes, the Hytale Team says, “Goldenwood is now found more often throughout Zone 4, including within some cities and villages.” The update does not specify exact coordinates or guarantee a tree at any particular location.
Harvest Sallow trees in the Devastated Lands
For a repeatable tree-harvesting route, All Things How’s January 20, 2026 guide points to Sallow trees in the Devastated Lands. It describes burnt forest patches and yellow or yellow-green trees as visual clues. Once you find one, harvest it with an axe or hatchet. This is a guide-reported route, not an official guarantee of where Sallow trees spawn.
Try Howling Desert chests for Palm Tree logs
The same guide reports that Palm Tree logs can count as Goldenwood Trunks and may appear in ordinary chests in the Howling Desert. Treat this as a loot-dependent alternative: chest contents vary, and the guide distinguishes ordinary chests from High Roll Chests. It does not establish a guaranteed yield.

Which route should you use?

Why the item may be called a log instead of a trunk
Hytale’s labels can vary between “Trunk” and “Log.” The official Update 1 notes say recipes that previously asked for a type of “Trunk” are displayed correctly as “Log.” That is a general wording correction, not confirmation that a specific Goldenwood recipe uses either label. Check the item name and recipe shown in your current game.

What Goldenwood Trunks are used for
All Things How reports that the Farmer’s Workbench Tier 8 upgrade requires 60 Goldenwood Trunks, alongside 6 Greater Essence of Life, 60 Potatoes, and 60 Onions. The requirement is from that guide; check the current in-game workbench before collecting materials, since the recipe has not been independently confirmed by an official source.
