Hytale does not yet have a complete, authoritative player-facing catalog of dungeons, villages, ruins, loot tables, or bosses. The current documentation explains the systems that generate worlds and reusable structures, while the Hytale Team’s 2026 WorldGen V2 update describes dedicated procedural dungeons and coherent villages and cities as work in progress. You can create structure content today with WorldStructure assets, biome props, prefabs, points of interest, and saved volumes, but you should not treat roadmap features as guaranteed release-build locations.

What counts as a structure in Hytale?
In Hytale, “structure” can mean several different things. A player may use the word for a visible building, ruin, village, dungeon entrance, or landmark. The creator tools use a broader set of layers:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- World Structure: the top-level definition of a generated world. It determines how biomes, spawn positions, generation frameworks, and graph-based generators fit together.
- WorldStructures assets: reusable JSON configurations that can inherit from one another and override selected settings.
- Prefabs: reusable constructions that can be placed into generated worlds or used in creator-made content.
- Points of interest: locations that biome generation can place as notable content.
- Volumes: saved areas that can carry gameplay logic, environmental effects, transitions, puzzles, encounters, or protected spaces.
This distinction matters because a WorldStructure asset is not the same thing as a village building, and a prefab is not automatically a dungeon with enemies and rewards. The visible result depends on how the assets are connected to biome and world-generation rules.
Are dungeons and villages available in Hytale now?
The safest current answer is: there is no authoritative, complete in-game catalog or universal spawn guide for them yet. Hytale’s official “First Look: Chapter 1 and More” update in 2026 says the team will expand WorldGen V2 with “dedicated features to support procedural dungeons, coherent villages and cities, rivers and roads, and much more.” That wording describes planned development, not a promise that every feature is already present in the release build.

The same update says the world is being fully redesigned with WorldGen V2 and that creators can experiment with features early in pre-release. It also reports that the level-design team working on world generation has doubled in size. Those are meaningful development signals, but they do not establish dungeon coordinates, village frequency, named tiers, boss encounters, loot tables, or NPC rosters.
| Reader question | What is established | What is not established |
|---|---|---|
| Where do I find dungeons? | Dedicated procedural dungeon support is described as WorldGen V2 work. | No official universal coordinates, biome list, spawn-rate table, or complete release-build catalog is supplied. |
| How do villages generate? | Coherent villages and cities are named as a WorldGen V2 expansion. | No authoritative rules for settlement spacing, population, tiers, or guaranteed biomes are published here. |
| What structures exist? | The documented systems support generated content, prefabs, points of interest, and creator-authored assets. | A definitive player-facing list of every ruin, dungeon, village, boss, and reward set is not available. |
| Do structures have loot and bosses? | Volumes can support encounters and scripted spaces. | Specific official loot tables, bosses, and NPC lineups are not stated. |
If a guide gives exact coordinates or claims that every world contains a particular dungeon type, check whether it cites a later release note or an in-game reference. The documented material above does not support those claims.

How Hytale world generation places structures
The official World Structure reference describes a world as a coordinated system rather than a single list of buildings. A World Structure asset controls the contents and behavior of an entire generated world, including:
- the default biome;
- biome density and biome delimiters;
- the distance used for transitions between biomes;
- edge-distance tracking;
- spawn positions;
- framework modules; and
- graph-generator components.
These settings establish the terrain and generation context in which smaller structures can appear. A prefab placed through biome prop generation therefore depends on the biome and generation rules that select its location. Changing the world-level configuration can change the surroundings, transition behavior, or available placement context without changing the prefab itself.
World Structure versus a placed building
Think of the World Structure as the ruleset for a world and a prefab as a reusable construction inside that world. The former answers questions such as “Which biome and generator operate here?” The latter answers “What blocks, rooms, paths, or decorative pieces should be placed at this point?” A village system would need both a world-generation context and a way to assemble or place settlement content coherently.

This location is the reusable configuration layer for world-generation variants. A child asset can inherit from a named parent. When the child and parent define the same field, the child replaces the parent value. Nested behavior depends on the field, so do not assume that every nested object merges in exactly the same way.
Why inheritance matters
Inheritance lets a creator maintain a common baseline and make focused variants. For example, several worlds could share framework and generator settings while changing the default biome, delimiters, spawn positions, or another supported property. Keeping shared values in a parent reduces duplication, but it also creates a maintenance dependency: a parent change can affect every child that inherits the changed field.
- Use a parent for values that should remain consistent across variants.
- Override only the fields that genuinely differ.
- Check nested properties individually instead of assuming a shallow or deep merge.
- Regenerate or preview a fresh area after changing inherited settings; existing generated chunks may not reflect the new configuration.
Prefabs, biome props, and points of interest
Hytale’s content guide describes editable assets for everything from individual blocks to entire worlds. The biome-generation documentation places WorldStructure and Biomes assets under HytaleGenerator and explains that biome props can add prefabs and points of interest.
Prefab
A prefab is a reusable construction. It may represent a house, bridge, ruin, room, fortification, landmark, or another designed arrangement of content. Reuse makes a prefab suitable for multiple worlds or repeated placements, provided the generation rules allow those placements.

Point of interest
A point of interest identifies a notable location for generation or creator workflows. It can be used as a placement target or as a meaningful marker around which other content is organized. A point of interest by itself does not prove that a location is a complete village, dungeon, or quest area; those results require additional content and logic.
Biome prop generation
Biome props are the connection between biome rules and placed content. A biome can select props that include prefabs or points of interest, allowing structures to be integrated with terrain and environmental context rather than placed as isolated objects.
How to create a Hytale dungeon or village as a creator
The documented workflow is modular. It gives you the pieces to build a dungeon-like or village-like space, but it does not imply that an official, universal dungeon or settlement generator is already exposed as a finished player feature.
- Start with the documented asset layout. Work inside the
HytaleGeneratorcontent structure and identify the relevant WorldStructure and Biomes assets for the world you are targeting. - Define or extend a WorldStructure. Choose whether to create a new world-generation configuration or inherit from an existing parent. Set the biome, delimiters, transition behavior, spawn positions, framework modules, and graph-generator components needed by the design.
- Build the reusable construction. Create the rooms, streets, houses, walls, entrances, or decorative elements as prefab content. Keep repeated pieces modular so they can be updated without rebuilding the entire scene.
- Connect placement to biome generation. Use biome props and points of interest where the structure needs to be selected or located by generation rules. Define the environmental conditions under which the content is appropriate.
- Add interactive areas with volumes. Save volumes to the world or include them in prefabs when the design needs an encounter trigger, environmental effect, area transition, ambush, story beat, hidden discovery, puzzle, or safe zone.
- Preview on newly generated terrain. Generate new chunks or follow the documented world-generation workflow. Test placement, transitions, collision, and the interaction behavior of each volume.
- Version the assets deliberately. If a child WorldStructure inherits from a parent, record which fields are overridden and retest children after parent changes.
Designing a dungeon
A dungeon-style experience normally needs more than a shell of rooms. Use a prefab for the physical layout, points of interest for meaningful locations, and volumes for triggers or state changes. A volume can define where an ambush starts, where a puzzle becomes active, where the player crosses into a new area, or where a safe zone suppresses danger. The documented Update 5 notes specifically identify scripted encounters, environmental effects, transitions, puzzles, safe zones, hidden discoveries, and story beats as uses for volumes saved in worlds and included in prefabs.
Designing a village or city
A settlement needs repeatable building pieces plus rules for coherent placement. Create modular house, street, utility, landmark, and boundary prefabs rather than one monolithic object. Use biome props and points of interest to place them in an appropriate environment, then test spacing, terrain transitions, entrances, and the relationship between buildings. The WorldGen V2 roadmap’s phrase “coherent villages and cities” is a development goal; it is not a published algorithm or a guarantee that every creator-made settlement will receive automatic roads, population, or services.

What volumes add to structures
Update 5 expands the usefulness of prefabs by allowing volumes to be saved in worlds and included in prefabs. A volume is an area-based design element that can drive behavior without requiring the creator to write code for every interaction.
| Use | Example inside a structure | What to test |
|---|---|---|
| Scripted encounter | Entering a chamber starts an ambush or other encounter. | Trigger boundaries, repeat behavior, and what happens if players approach from different directions. |
| Environmental effect | A room applies a special atmosphere or hazard. | Effect edges, persistence, and cleanup when the player leaves. |
| Area transition | A doorway or threshold moves the player into another designed space. | Destination, loading behavior, collision, and return route. |
| Puzzle | A volume marks the active area for a puzzle or story beat. | Activation order, failure states, and multiplayer interaction. |
| Safe zone | A settlement interior or rest area receives protected behavior. | Boundary accuracy and whether hostile behavior stops as intended. |
Volumes do not automatically supply rewards, bosses, dialogue, or NPC populations. They provide an area in which supported behavior can be attached.

Hand-built structures, prefabs, and procedural placement compared
These approaches solve different problems. The documented systems support all three, but they offer different levels of control and repeatability.
| Approach | Authoring control | Repeatability | Biome/world integration | Interactive support | Maintenance |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hand-built structure | Highest control over one specific location and layout. | Low unless copied into a reusable asset. | Usually requires deliberate placement or an integration step. | Can use saved volumes and other supported systems. | Every copy may require separate edits. |
| Reusable prefab | Precise control over the construction’s contents. | High; the same asset can be reused. | Can connect to biome props and points of interest. | Volumes can travel with the prefab. | Centralized updates are easier, but inherited or dependent assets need retesting. |
| Procedurally placed structure | Lower control over any one placement, higher control over rules. | High across generated worlds. | Strongest when connected to biome and WorldStructure settings. | Depends on the prefab, volume, and generator configuration. | Rule changes can affect many worlds or chunks at once. |
Loot, bosses, NPCs, and progression
No supplied official reference publishes a complete structure loot table, boss list, named dungeon tiers, or settlement NPC roster. You should therefore separate the physical generation system from gameplay content:
- A generated location does not, by itself, establish a reward table.
- A prefab does not automatically become a boss arena.
- A point of interest does not prove that NPCs or quests will spawn there.
- A volume can support an encounter or puzzle area, but the specific enemies, rewards, and progression rules must be supplied by the relevant content systems.
When an official release note or in-game reference later specifies those details, use that version and region of the game as the qualification. Until then, treat detailed lists circulating without authoritative backing as unverified.

How to verify whether a structure is really present
World-generation content can change during pre-release development, and inherited assets can make a change appear in more than one place. Use a repeatable verification process:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Check the game or server build and the associated documentation version. The Hytale documentation identifies Release 0.7.2 as the current docs version in the 2026 material.
- Identify the WorldStructure and biome assets active for the world.
- Confirm that the intended prefab or point of interest is referenced by the relevant generation configuration.
- Generate fresh chunks or a new test world. Do not assume previously generated terrain will rebuild itself after an asset edit.
- Inspect the placement in more than one seed or test area when the design is procedural.
- Test volumes separately from the visible build: trigger encounters, transitions, puzzles, environmental effects, and safe-zone behavior.
- Record whether the result is an authored placement, a reusable prefab, or a procedural result. That distinction prevents a creator experiment from being mistaken for a universal feature.
Common problems and fixes
The structure never appears
- Confirm the prefab or point of interest is connected to biome prop generation.
- Check that the active WorldStructure uses the expected biome and generator configuration.
- Generate new chunks after changing assets.
- Verify that an inherited child asset has not overridden or replaced the field that enables placement.
The structure appears in the wrong environment
- Review the biome association and transition-distance settings.
- Check biome delimiters and any placement conditions on the prop or point of interest.
- Use a dedicated child WorldStructure for a variant instead of changing a shared parent unnecessarily.
The layout works, but the encounter does not
- Confirm the volume is saved with the world or included in the prefab.
- Check the volume’s boundaries and activation conditions.
- Test entry, exit, re-entry, and multiplayer behavior.
- Separate geometry errors from gameplay-logic errors by testing the volume in an otherwise empty area.
A parent edit breaks several variants
- Compare the child overrides with the parent’s changed fields.
- Remember that nested merge behavior varies by field.
- Keep a versioned baseline and regenerate test chunks for every affected child.
What the current roadmap means for players
WorldGen V2 is the key reason online structure lists can become outdated quickly. The Hytale Team has explicitly described dedicated procedural dungeons, coherent villages and cities, rivers, and roads as features to be expanded. Until those systems are documented for a specific release, the responsible way to describe them is as planned or developing capabilities, not as a fixed catalog.
For players, that means there may be no single reliable answer to “Where is the nearest dungeon?” across all builds and worlds. For creators, it means the current asset system is useful for experimentation, but a world made against pre-release behavior may need updates as the official generators evolve.
Bottom line for finding and building structures
Hytale currently provides a documented foundation for structure creation: WorldStructure assets define world-generation behavior; assets under Server/HytaleGenerator/WorldStructures/*.json can inherit and override configurations; biome props can place prefabs and points of interest; and Update 5 volumes can add encounters, effects, transitions, puzzles, discoveries, and safe zones. The official 2026 roadmap places dedicated procedural dungeons and coherent villages and cities in ongoing WorldGen V2 work. Until a later release supplies exact locations and content tables, use the generator and creator systems as the reliable guide—not unsourced lists of dungeon coordinates, village rates, bosses, or loot.
