Steam says your wishlist can be viewed and managed in the Steam client or in a web browser.
If the page will not open, do not assume your wishlist was deleted. The cause is more often a Steam outage, an expired browser session, blocked cookies, a local network problem, parental controls, or an account restriction.

Start with the quickest checks
- Confirm the account. Check the account name or profile you are using. A different Steam account will have a different wishlist.
- Use the normal route. In Steam, select Store > Wishlist. You can also sign in through a normal web-browser window and open the Wishlist option from the Store menu.
- Try another official Steam surface. Compare the Steam client, a normal browser, and the Steam mobile app if available. Valve’s current wishlist features span browser, mobile, the Steam Client, and SteamOS. If it works in one place but not another, that points toward a local session or interface problem rather than proof that the list is gone.
- Check another Store page. If game pages and other Store functions load normally but Wishlist does not, troubleshoot the browser or client first. If several Steam pages fail, investigate Steam’s service status and your connection.
Use the symptom to choose the right fix

If the problem is browser-only
Sign in again using a regular, non-private browser window. Make sure cookies are enabled. Steam explains that browser cookies are involved in remembered-browser and Steam Guard behavior, so disabled, blocked, or repeatedly cleared cookies can interfere with a persistent Steam session. This is a useful session check, not a guaranteed fix for every wishlist display problem.

If the wishlist works in another browser or in the Steam client, the account and list are probably accessible; concentrate on the affected browser’s cookies, extensions, and stored session.

If several Steam pages fail
Check Steam Server Status first. Steam Support notes that timeouts when opening Steam sites can indicate a system-wide problem, and temporary outages or unusually high traffic may prevent immediate access. If there is a broader incident, waiting and trying again later is safer than repeatedly changing account settings.
If Steam reports no broad outage, work through the local connection path:
- Restart Steam and, if appropriate, restart the router or network connection.
- Test another network, such as a trusted mobile connection, to distinguish a home-network issue from a Steam or account issue.
- Check whether a firewall, antivirus product, VPN, proxy, or other security tool is blocking Steam traffic.
- Close background applications that may interfere with Steam’s connection.
- Remember that wireless and powerline connections can be intermittent.
- If you are on a university, workplace, or managed network, its proxy or firewall may block ports Steam requires.
- Run a malware scan if the connection behaves unexpectedly or account-security concerns are also present.
If the wishlist works on another network or device, the result is evidence of a local environment problem—not evidence that Steam deleted the list.

Check Steam Families and parental controls
If the affected account belongs to a child in Steam Families, ask the adult family member to review its parental-control settings. Steam Families controls can restrict access to the Steam Store, which may also block the normal route to the wishlist.

Do not change controls by using a third-party workaround. The adult account holder should review the permitted Store features and then have the child account sign in again.
Do not confuse an inaccessible list with unavailable games
There are two different problems:
- The Wishlist page will not open: troubleshoot sign-in, Steam availability, the browser or client, the network, parental controls, and account restrictions.
- The Wishlist opens but one or more games cannot be viewed or purchased: investigate the individual Store listing and regional availability.
Steam documents product-level regional restrictions and associates Store country with account and purchase context. That evidence does not justify concluding that regional availability caused an entire wishlist to disappear. An individual title may be unavailable while the list itself remains intact.
If you are opening someone else’s shared wishlist
Your own wishlist and another person’s shared list are also separate cases. Valve’s current wishlist features allow an owner to create a revocable sharing link and choose what is shared. A link can stop working because it was revoked or changed; that does not prove that the owner’s underlying wishlist was deleted.

Ask the owner to confirm that the sharing link is still active and to generate a new one if necessary. Do not enter your Steam credentials on a page reached through an unfamiliar link.

What to do if Steam shows a restriction or lock
Read the complete notice. Steam says restriction notices identify what is restricted and why. Follow the official instructions attached to that notice and contact Steam Support if the explanation is unclear.
A restriction notice is not the same as a missing wishlist. Avoid people who promise to remove a restriction in exchange for your password, Steam Guard code, recovery code, money, or remote access.
Secure the account if anything looks suspicious
Take the security branch immediately if you see an unknown device, unexpected account changes, an unfamiliar email or phone number, or a sign-in problem that you did not cause.
- Secure the email account associated with Steam first, including changing its password and enabling appropriate security.
- Use Steam’s account-recovery and security tools rather than contacting a supposed helper in Discord, Steam Chat, or another messaging service.
- Review Authorized Devices.
- Use Sign out everywhere if an unknown device may still have access.
- Change the Steam password from an official Steam domain.
- Scan the computer for malware, especially if credentials or sessions may have been stolen.
Never give a password, Steam Guard code, recovery code, or a screenshot containing those values to anyone claiming to be Steam Support through chat. Steam says official account assistance is provided through the Steam Support Help Site, and official logins use Steam domains.

Recover the account if you cannot sign in
If you no longer know the account email, password, or phone number, use Steam’s official recovery flow. Steam says that flow can present a form for contacting Steam Support when automatic recovery does not resolve the problem. Once access is restored, return to Store > Wishlist and verify that you are using the intended account.
Contact Steam Support with useful evidence
If the checks above do not restore access, contact Steam Support through the official Help site. Include enough detail for the support wizard to distinguish an account problem from a Store or network problem:
- The exact error message or timeout text.
- A screenshot of the problem, with passwords, Steam Guard codes, recovery codes, payment information, and personal security details hidden.
- Whether the issue occurs in the Steam client, browser, mobile app, or more than one surface.
- Whether other Store pages load.
- The date and approximate time of the failure.
- Your country or Steam Store region.
- The network and device involved.
- The troubleshooting steps you already tried.
That information is more useful than simply reporting that the wishlist is “gone.”

Valve’s current wishlist feature set includes custom categories, wishlist search and autocomplete, filtered sharing, demo-availability highlights and notifications, and navigation changes across browser, mobile, the Steam Client, and SteamOS. The interface may therefore look different from an older guide or screenshot. The baseline access path remains Store > Wishlist after signing in.

Steam also uses the wishlist to notify users when a game goes on sale. Restoring access can therefore help you monitor discounts, but buying a Steam Wallet code or gaming accessory will not repair a missing or inaccessible digital wishlist. Resolve the account, Store, browser, or network problem first.

Did Steam delete my wishlist?
Not necessarily. First confirm that you are signed in to the correct account and test the Wishlist page in another official Steam surface. Outages, session problems, parental controls, restrictions, and local connection issues can all prevent access without deleting the list.
Why does my Steam wishlist work in the app but not my browser?
That pattern points toward a browser-specific session, cookie, extension, or rendering problem. Try a normal browser window with cookies enabled, sign in again, and test with extensions disabled. The app-versus-browser comparison is a diagnostic clue, not an official Steam diagnosis.
Can my Steam region make my whole wishlist disappear?
Regional rules can make individual products unavailable, but an unavailable title is different from being unable to open the Wishlist page. Check the affected game’s Store listing and your account’s Store country before assuming the entire list is missing.
Can I contact Steam Support through Discord or Steam Chat?
No. Use the official Steam Support Help Site. Do not share your password, Steam Guard code, recovery code, or sensitive screenshots with anyone claiming to provide support through a chat service.
