For ICARUS locations, the most complete current options are MapGenie, Icarus Database, and Icarus Intel. MapGenie currently covers Olympus, Styx, Prometheus, and Elysium, with searchable caves, resource deposits, oil wells, geysers, and bosses. Icarus Database covers the same four regions with a pan-and-zoom terrain map.
MapGenie: the most useful all-purpose location map
Open MapGenie’s ICARUS map and choose a region from the tabs across the top:

- Olympus
- Styx
- Prometheus
- Elysium
Older guides and forum posts may say that Prometheus or Elysium is missing. That information is outdated: both regions are present in the current map selector. A February 25, 2025 Steam discussion is one example of older information that no longer matches the live MapGenie interface.
Finding a cave, deposit, or other location
- Select the correct region tab.
- Use the Search… field and the adjacent Search button when you know what you want to find.
- Alternatively, open a category in the map legend and click its marker type.
- Zoom and pan around the displayed markers to identify a practical route.
The currently visible MapGenie categories are:
| Group | Location types |
|---|---|
| Locations | Cave – T1, Cave – T2, Cave – T3 |
| Resources | Deep Mining Deposit, Enzyme Geyser, Exotics Deposit, Oil Well |
| Enemies | Boss |
Use Show All or Hide All in the top toolbar to change the map quickly. The Grid button adds the map grid, while the ? button opens the map’s help information.

What the MapGenie numbers mean
The number beside a category is the marker count for the selected map, not a universal total for ICARUS. In the captured Styx view, the displayed counts are:
- Cave – T1: 29
- Cave – T2: 54
- Cave – T3: 96
- Deep Mining Deposit: 141
- Enzyme Geyser: 17
- Exotics Deposit: 16
- Oil Well: 20
- Boss: 3
Counts can differ between regions and may change as map data is updated, so do not use the Styx figures as totals for Olympus, Prometheus, or Elysium.

MapGenie currently displays an Upgrade To Pro link and a prompt offering Pro as a way to remove ads and unlock extra features. The basic map workflow remains browser-based: select a region, toggle categories, search, filter, and use the measurement tools. No in-game console command is required.

The page’s server-rendered content currently shows Loading map…; its map controls and marker categories load dynamically rather than appearing in the fetched HTML. If the map does not appear immediately, allow the page to finish loading and check that scripts or content blockers are not preventing the interactive layer from starting.

Icarus Intel
Icarus Intel is useful when the goal is more specific than simply locating a resource. Its documented interface labels include:
- Gear icon: support options.
- Filter icon: map and settings controls.
- “i” icon: the legend and icon details.
- Map icon: mission details and tips.
You can click caves to view additional information. The site also accepts reports for incorrect cave entrance coordinates, incorrect mission locations, missing objectives, and outdated mission information. Its indexed information directs users to the community Discord for map feedback and missing-information reports.
However, the Icarus Intel page returned a 502 Bad Gateway during verification. Treat the interface details above as documented labels, but expect availability or individual features to change if the site is temporarily unavailable.

| Need | Best starting point |
|---|---|
| Searchable caves, deposits, wells, geysers, and bosses | MapGenie |
| A clean terrain map for exploring regions by pan and zoom | Icarus Database |
| Mission tips, cave details, or reporting incorrect locations | Icarus Intel |
For a normal expedition, start by selecting the correct MapGenie region and enabling only the marker category you need. Use the grid or distance tool when route planning matters. For mission-specific information, compare the map location with Icarus Intel’s mission details and tips rather than assuming every marker answers the same question.
Current limitations and accuracy notes
The verified map pages do not expose an ICARUS game version number, map-data version, edition requirement, renamed setting, deprecation notice, or end-of-support date. They also do not document a special in-game command for these map functions. Because community map data can change, confirm the selected region and marker category before relying on a displayed count or route.
