igd10umd32.dll is a 32-bit Intel graphics-driver component, not a general Windows runtime. If Windows says it is missing, was not found, or could not be loaded, reinstall the complete Intel display-driver package for your exact computer rather than downloading the DLL separately.
The file’s public description is “LDDM User Mode Driver for Intel(R) Graphics Technology.” It supports the user-mode portion of Intel graphics handling, including older Intel HD Graphics and Intel Graphics Accelerator packages. DirectX, Visual C++ Redistributables, and .NET normally do not provide this file.
Identify the file and its likely driver family
The 32 suffix means this particular file is 32-bit. Historical driver records associate it with several Intel graphics generations and packages:

What the similar Intel filenames mean
Intel driver packages can contain several similarly named files:
igd10umd32.dllis the 32-bit user-mode Intel graphics component associated with Direct3D 10-era graphics support.igd10umd64.dllis the corresponding 64-bit filename. A 64-bit application cannot load the 32-bit file, and a 32-bit application cannot use the 64-bit build as a substitute.igdumd32.dllis a related older Intel user-mode graphics filename. It is not automatically interchangeable withigd10umd32.dll.igd10iumd32.dllis another Intel user-mode graphics filename found in some driver families. Its presence does not prove that it can replace the missing file.igdkmd32.sysis a kernel-mode Intel graphics driver file. It is a.sysdriver, not a replacement DLL.
The exact files installed depend on the Intel GPU generation, Windows version, package architecture, and OEM customizations.
First, determine whether the file is actually missing
A dialog such as “The program can’t start because igd10umd32.dll is missing from your computer” points toward an incomplete, corrupted, quarantined, or incorrectly installed graphics package.
An error saying “The specified module could not be found” does not always mean the named DLL itself is absent. A dependency required by the DLL may be missing instead.
Crash reports require more care. If an APPCRASH report lists igd10umd32.dll as the faulting module, that does not prove the file is missing or defective. The underlying cause could be a graphics-driver bug, an application incompatibility, corrupted driver files, or a damaged game installation.
Fix 1: Reinstall the exact Intel graphics driver
This is the safest and most likely fix for a genuine missing or damaged igd10umd32.dll.
Find the installed GPU
- Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Note the complete Intel graphics name.
- Right-click the Intel adapter and choose Properties.
- Open the Driver tab and record the driver provider, date, and version.
- Open the Details tab.
- In the Property menu, select Hardware Ids and copy the first value.
You can also press Win+R, type dxdiag, and press Enter. Select Save All Information if you need to provide the graphics and Windows details to support staff.
Download the correct package
Use this order:
- Open the computer or motherboard manufacturer’s support page.
- Search by the exact model or service tag.
- Select your Windows version and architecture.
- Download the Display, Graphics, or Intel VGA driver.
- If the OEM does not provide a usable package, use Intel’s official graphics driver support pages or Windows Update.
- Avoid forcing a newer generic Intel package onto a customized laptop unless the manufacturer or Intel guidance indicates it is supported.
OEM packages can include display tuning, power management, hotkey support, panel settings, and firmware-specific adjustments. Intel warns that a generic driver may omit those customizations or be incompatible with a particular laptop or motherboard.

Perform a clean reinstall

- Disconnect the computer from the internet temporarily.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click the Intel graphics adapter and select Uninstall device.
- Select Delete the driver software for this device if that option appears.
- Click Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
- Run the graphics-driver installer you downloaded from the OEM or Intel.
- Restart again.
- Reconnect to the internet.
Afterward, return to Device Manager → Display adapters → Intel graphics → Properties → Driver. The adapter should appear without a warning icon, and the driver provider and version should match the package you installed. Launch the affected program to test it.
If the installer refuses to run, reports that the hardware is unsupported, or restores only a basic Microsoft display adapter, stop and recheck the GPU identity, Windows architecture, and OEM model. Installing a driver for a different Intel generation will not repair this file.

Use this route when the problem began immediately after a driver update.
Roll back a recent driver
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Double-click the Intel adapter.
- Open the Driver tab.
- Select Roll Back Driver.
- Choose a reason and confirm.
- Restart Windows.
The rollback button may be unavailable when Windows has no previous driver stored. In that case, install the last working package from the computer manufacturer.
Check Windows Update
- Press
Win+Ito open Settings. - Select Windows Update.
- Choose Check for updates.
- Open Advanced options → Optional updates.
- Expand Driver updates if available.
- Install the Intel display driver only when it matches the detected hardware.
- Restart the computer.
Windows Update is useful when the graphics package was removed during servicing, but the OEM package is usually the better choice for older laptops and branded systems.
Fix 3: Repair Windows components with DISM and SFC
Use these commands when Windows component corruption is also suspected. They can repair protected Windows files, but they may not reconstruct every OEM graphics-driver file, INF entry, or driver-store dependency.

- Right-click Start.
- Select Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for the operation to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
DISM should run before SFC because it repairs the component source that SFC may use. If SFC reports that it found and repaired corrupt files, restart and test the application. If it reports that some files could not be repaired, reinstall the Intel graphics package afterward rather than repeatedly copying DLLs.

Fix 4: Check Windows Security quarantine
An antivirus event can remove or quarantine a driver component, although quarantine is only one possible cause.
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Choose Protection history.
- Look for an event involving the Intel display driver or
igd10umd32.dll. - Expand the event and review its location and detection details.
- Restore or allow the file only if it came from a trusted, correctly signed OEM or Intel driver package.
- If its origin is uncertain, do not restore it. Reinstall the complete signed driver package instead.
After reinstalling, run a Windows Security scan and test the application again.

Fix 5: Repair the application or game
If the program crashes while the DLL is merely named in an APPCRASH report, repair the program as well as the graphics driver.
For a desktop application:
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Select the application.
- Choose Advanced options if available.
- Select Repair.
- If Repair does not help, use Reset only if you understand that it may remove the application’s local settings.
- Restart and test again.
For a game launcher, use its built-in file verification feature. In Epic Games Launcher, open Library, select the game’s three-dot menu, choose Manage, and select Verify. Other launchers provide a similarly named Verify, Repair, or Scan command.
If only one older game or application fails while other 3D programs work, update or patch that application, verify its files, and test the OEM graphics driver. Do not assume that replacing the DLL will solve an application-driver compatibility problem.
Fix 6: Use System Restore after a recent change
System Restore is appropriate when the error began after a driver installation, Windows update, cleanup utility, or other software change.
- Press
Win+R. - Type:
rstrui.exe
- Press Enter.
- Select Next.
- Choose a restore point created before the problem started.
- Select Scan for affected programs if available.
- Confirm the restore point and let Windows restart.
System Restore does not replace personal documents, but it can remove drivers and applications installed after the selected restore point. If the error continues, reinstall the correct OEM graphics package after Windows returns.

Do not download the DLL from a random website
A standalone download can contain malware, the wrong driver build, the wrong architecture, or an unsigned and mismatched file. Even a genuine copy may not match the installed INF, catalog, dependencies, or Intel GPU generation. It often hides the driver-package problem instead of fixing it.
Use Windows Update, the computer manufacturer’s support page, or Intel’s official driver resources. Install the package, not an isolated DLL.
Do not copy between System32 and SysWOW64
On 64-bit Windows, 32-bit system components are normally redirected to:

On 32-bit Windows, they may be under:
%WINDIR%System32
Despite its name, System32 is not the “32-bit folder” on 64-bit Windows. Copying a file between these directories does not change its architecture and can create a second, inconsistent installation.

Do not run regsvr32 on this driver DLL
regsvr32 is for DLLs that expose the registration entry points expected by that utility. A graphics user-mode driver is installed through its driver package, INF, catalog, and related files. Registering igd10umd32.dll manually is usually irrelevant and can produce another error.
Do not repair the wrong runtime
Microsoft’s DirectX End-User Runtime supplies legacy D3DX, XAudio, and XInput components. It does not supply igd10umd32.dll. Visual C++ Redistributable repairs restore runtime libraries, not Intel display-driver files. Multiple Visual C++ versions can coexist, but repairing them will not normally rebuild this graphics component.
What about Windows Features?
Some older games need optional legacy components, but enabling a Windows feature does not restore an Intel graphics DLL.

- Review Legacy Components and DirectPlay only if the affected application specifically requires them.
- Apply a change and restart if Windows requests it.
If the error names igd10umd32.dll, return to the Intel driver repair steps rather than enabling unrelated features.
FAQ
Is igd10umd32.dll part of Windows?
It may be placed in Windows system or driver-store locations by Windows Update, an OEM recovery image, or an Intel graphics package. It is not a general-purpose Windows runtime like a Visual C++ or .NET component.
Why does a 32-bit DLL appear on 64-bit Windows?
A 32-bit application needs 32-bit graphics components even when Windows itself is 64-bit. Windows normally keeps such system files under SysWOW64. The application and DLL architectures must match.
Can I use igd10umd64.dll instead?
No. The 64-bit and 32-bit builds are not substitutes. Install the complete package that matches both the application architecture and the installed Intel graphics driver.

Is Intel HD Graphics 3000 supported on Windows 11?
Intel’s current compatibility information lists HD Graphics 3000 for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1, not Windows 10 or Windows 11. Some systems may operate with older or inbox drivers, but official support is limited.
Why does the crash report name the DLL if it is still present?
The file may be the module where the application encountered a failure, not the missing file. Check for driver incompatibility, application updates, corrupted game files, and a recent driver change.
What should I collect if nothing works?
Record the exact error text, Windows version, application name, Intel GPU model, Device Manager hardware ID, installed driver version, and the dxdiag report. If the problem survives driver reinstall, DISM/SFC, application repair, quarantine review, and System Restore, investigate unsupported legacy hardware, storage damage, malware, or an application bug.
