igdusc64.dll is an Intel graphics-driver component, not a standalone Windows application file. If Windows says it is missing, was not found, or could not be loaded, repair the Intel graphics package before trying unrelated runtime installers.
Start with this diagnostic checklist
Before changing files, record:
- Which program or game fails
- Whether the error appears at launch, during loading, or during a crash
- Whether one program fails or several graphics applications fail
- Whether Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit
- Your Intel GPU model and current driver version
- The exact error text
Also check whether the problem started after a Windows update, graphics-driver update, game update, antivirus alert, or system restore point.

The most important distinction is this:
- A missing or not found message usually points to an incomplete driver installation, quarantine, or a missing dependency.
- An invalid or not designed to run on Windows message usually indicates a damaged or incompatible driver file.
- A crash report naming
igdusc64.dllas the faulting module does not prove that the file itself is defective. It may indicate an Intel driver, game renderer, shader input, or hardware compatibility problem.
What igdusc64.dll is
igdusc64.dll is a 64-bit, user-mode Intel graphics component associated with shader compilation. It is commonly identified as Unified Shader Compiler for Intel(R) Graphics Accelerator and normally arrives as part of an Intel graphics-driver package.
On 64-bit Windows, its usual location is:
C:WindowsSystem32igdusc64.dll
That location can be confusing. On 64-bit Windows, System32 contains 64-bit system components. SysWOW64 contains 32-bit components. The related 32-bit file is igdusc32.dll; it is not a replacement for igdusc64.dll.

- A .NET component
- A general-purpose Windows application DLL
Intel graphics packages commonly install it alongside other Intel display components and the Intel graphics kernel driver. The correct version depends on the GPU generation, Windows version, computer manufacturer, and driver package.
Fix 1: Reinstall the correct Intel graphics driver
This is the primary repair and the best first step when several games or graphics programs fail.
Identify the graphics device
- Press Windows key + X.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Write down the complete Intel graphics device name.
- Double-click the device and open the Driver tab.
- Record the Driver Provider, Driver Date, and Driver Version.
Check the computer manufacturer’s support page using the exact model of the laptop, desktop, or motherboard. Download the Intel graphics driver listed for your Windows version and device.

If an OEM package is unavailable, use Intel’s official support site or Intel Driver & Support Assistant. Do not use a driver package intended for a different Intel GPU generation.
Install the driver normally
- Close games and graphics applications.
- Run the downloaded driver installer.
- Follow the installation wizard.
- Choose a clean-install option if the installer provides one.
- Restart Windows even if the installer does not require it.
- Test the program that reported
igdusc64.dll.
A successful repair normally means the original error no longer appears and the application reaches its main screen or game menu. Check Device Manager again if the problem remains. A warning symbol, generic display adapter, or missing Intel device indicates that the driver installation did not complete correctly.
Perform a manual clean installation
Use this procedure if the normal installer fails, the file repeatedly disappears, or Device Manager shows a damaged Intel driver.
- Download the correct OEM or Intel driver first, but do not install it yet.
- Disconnect the computer from the internet. This prevents Windows from immediately installing a different driver.
- Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click the Intel graphics device and select Uninstall device.
- Select Attempt to remove the driver for this device or Delete the driver software for this device, if shown.
- Select Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
- Run the driver installer you downloaded.
- Restart Windows again.
- Reconnect to the internet and test the affected application.
The display may temporarily use a basic Microsoft driver during this process. That is expected. If the Intel device does not return after restarting, reinstall the driver from Device Manager by selecting Display adapters, choosing Action, and selecting Scan for hardware changes.
If manually matching GPU generations, Windows builds, and OEM packages is taking too long, Outbyte Driver Updater can scan for outdated drivers and show what needs attention; its free scan identifies the issue, while driver installation through the full version is optional. Use the computer manufacturer’s package when available, and remember that reinstalling the affected game or program remains the definitive fix when the problem belongs only to that application.
Fix 2: Repair the affected game or program
If only one game fails and other graphics applications work, repair that program before repeatedly changing the Windows driver.
First remove unsupported modifications, shader injectors, overlays, and graphics-enhancement tools. Temporarily disable overlays from launchers, recording software, hardware-monitoring utilities, and chat applications. Then test the program again.

- Select Apps.
- Choose Installed apps.
- Select the program.
- Open its menu and choose Modify, Repair, or Advanced options, if available.
If repair does not help, uninstall and reinstall the program from its legitimate installer. Do not copy a loose igdusc64.dll into the game’s folder. A game may need the driver component from a matching Intel package, and a manually copied file can create a version or dependency mismatch.
Fix 3: Check Windows Security quarantine
Antivirus software can remove or quarantine a driver component. Check this before assuming that Windows deleted the file.
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Open Protection history.
- Look for an event involving
igdusc64.dll, an Intel graphics package, or the graphics installer. - Expand the event and review the file path and detection details.
Do not restore or allow the file solely because its name looks like an Intel file. Confirm that it came from the OEM or Intel driver installation, check its location, and verify its digital signature:
- Right-click the file in File Explorer.
- Select Properties.
- Open Digital Signatures.
- Select the signature and choose Details.
- Confirm that Windows reports the signature as valid.
If the file was removed from a legitimate signed driver package, reinstall the complete driver instead of restoring an isolated DLL. Microsoft warns that allowing a genuine threat can expose the computer.
Fix 4: Repair Windows components with DISM and SFC
Use Windows repair commands when several system files are malfunctioning, Windows updates fail, or the driver installer itself reports component corruption. These commands are not a substitute for reinstalling the Intel graphics driver, and SFC is not guaranteed to restore a vendor driver file.
- Open the Start menu.
- Type Command Prompt.
- Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Approve the User Account Control prompt.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Wait for DISM to finish. Do not close the window if progress pauses.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Wait until verification reaches 100 percent.
- Restart Windows.
- Reinstall the Intel graphics driver if
igdusc64.dllis still missing.
DISM repairs the Windows component store, while SFC checks protected Windows files. If SFC reports that it could not repair some files, run DISM again, restart, and repeat SFC once. If the result is unchanged, return to the OEM graphics-driver installation rather than repeatedly running the same commands.
When tracking down damaged Windows components manually becomes repetitive, Outbyte PC Repair can scan for system issues and show what needs repair; the free scan identifies problems, while repairs through the full version are optional. It is not required, and an application-specific failure is still best resolved by repairing or reinstalling that application.
Fix 5: Test Windows Update or roll back a bad driver
A driver update can introduce a compatibility problem even when the file is present.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Check for a newer driver
- Open Settings.
- Select Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install applicable updates.
- Restart Windows.
- Install the current OEM graphics driver if the problem remains.
Roll back the Intel driver
Use rollback only if the crash began immediately after a driver update and the rollback button is available.

- Select Roll Back Driver.
- Choose a reason and confirm.
- Restart Windows.
If Roll Back Driver is unavailable, install the previous driver supplied by the computer manufacturer. Do not substitute a random older DLL.
Fix 6: Use System Restore after a recent change
System Restore can help when a suitable restore point predates the driver or software change.
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type:
rstrui.exe
- Press Enter.
- Choose Next.
- Select a restore point created before the problem began.
- Select Scan for affected programs if available.
- Review the changes.
- Select Finish and confirm.
System Restore can revert drivers, installed programs, and system settings. Personal files are normally preserved, but recent applications or updates may need to be installed again. Do not use it if there is no restore point that clearly predates the failure.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Do not run regsvr32 on this file
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that provide registration functions such as DllRegisterServer, commonly used by COM or ActiveX components. igdusc64.dll is a graphics-driver runtime module, not an established self-registering component.
Running this command is therefore not an appropriate repair:
regsvr32 igdusc64.dll
It may produce an entry-point error, and registering the file would not rebuild the Intel graphics driver or repair its dependencies.
Why manual DLL downloads are unsafe
Do not download igdusc64.dll from a random DLL repository and place it in:

A downloaded copy may have the wrong architecture, an incompatible driver version, missing dependencies, an invalid signature, or malicious modifications. It may also hide the real cause, such as a damaged driver installation or a quarantined file.
Use the computer manufacturer’s support page first, followed by Intel’s official graphics-driver support resources. Install the complete signed package rather than replacing one file.

If the file appears in a crash report
A crash naming igdusc64.dll as the faulting module is different from a missing-file error. The file may be present but involved in a failure between the Intel driver, the game’s renderer, shader compilation, and the hardware.
Try these steps in order:
- Update or clean-install the OEM Intel graphics driver.
- Verify the game files.
- Remove unsupported mods and overlays.
- Test another graphics API or safe-renderer mode if the application’s developer provides one.
- Check whether other games or graphics applications also crash.
- Roll back the driver if the problem began immediately after an update.
If only one game crashes, do not assume the Intel DLL is the sole cause.
Information to collect if the problem continues
Record the following before requesting support:
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 version
- Computer model
- Intel GPU model
- Intel graphics-driver version
- Affected program and its version
- Exact error message
- Whether the file is missing from
C:WindowsSystem32 - Whether Windows Security quarantined it
- Event Viewer’s faulting application
- Event Viewer’s faulting module
- Exception code
- Whether one program or several programs fail
To check Event Viewer:
- Press Windows key + X.
- Select Event Viewer.
- Open Windows Logs.
- Select Application.
- Find the error at the time of the crash.
- Record the faulting application, faulting module, and exception code.
FAQ
Is igdusc64.dll a Windows file?
It is normally installed as part of an Intel graphics-driver package. It is not a standalone Microsoft runtime such as Visual C++, DirectX, or .NET.
Should I install Visual C++ Redistributable?
Only if the affected program separately requires it. Visual C++ does not provide the Intel graphics component and is not the primary fix for igdusc64.dll.
Can I replace it with igdusc32.dll?
No. igdusc64.dll is the 64-bit variant, while igdusc32.dll serves 32-bit graphics components. The architectures are not interchangeable.
Is the file safe because it has an Intel-style name?
No. Check its path and digital signature. A legitimate copy should come from an OEM or Intel driver installation.
What if the message says “specified module could not be found”?
That message can mean the named DLL is missing, or that a dependency required by the DLL cannot load. Reinstall the complete Intel graphics driver rather than copying only the named file.
Will SFC restore igdusc64.dll?
Not necessarily. SFC repairs protected Windows components. igdusc64.dll is supplied through a graphics-driver package, so the correct driver reinstall remains the central repair.
Do I need regsvr32?
No. This is a driver runtime module, not a DLL that should normally be registered manually.
What is the safest fix?
Install the exact graphics driver from the computer manufacturer, use a clean installation when available, restart Windows, and then repair the affected game if only that game still fails.
