Which Illuminate enemies should you recognize?
The official Helldivers 2 page describes Voteless, Watchers, Overseers, and Harvesters. Later official update material also mentions Wretches and Crushers, confirming that the faction’s roster has expanded. The available official sources do not provide one complete, current enemy list or a counter for every enemy.

Who should you target first?
Use the fight’s immediate pressure to decide, rather than following a rigid order regardless of what is happening. When you have a moment to choose, this sequence helps prevent the most avoidable problems:

- Stop a Watcher’s scan. Its reporting role can increase pressure on the squad, which is why tactical guides advise removing it quickly when detected.
- Keep Voteless from controlling your movement. Use crowd-control attacks to thin the group, while staying alert to more dangerous enemies nearby.
- Do not leave an Overseer free to direct the fight. Maintain damage and use the guide’s suggested shield-bypassing or medium-penetration approaches where appropriate.
- Commit anti-tank resources to a Harvester. Use cover while following current shield and armor guidance; do not treat a particular ammunition count from a guide as a permanent breakpoint.
If an enemy is already creating an immediate threat, respond to that threat first; the sequence is a prioritization aid, not a substitute for reading the fight.
How should you build a loadout for Illuminate missions?
There is no evidence-supported universal Illuminate loadout. In commentary tied to the official Steam announcements for the Void and Devoid of Liberty updates, Arrowhead says players should consider the enemies they are about to engage rather than use one loadout for every faction. Build around the jobs your squad needs to cover:

Arrowhead’s Patch 01.002.001 — Omens of Tyranny describes colony combat as taking place in closer quarters, with dark alleys and forked paths. Those conditions make squad awareness and cover important: a turn can bring a Voteless group into close range, and an attack with a wide blast can endanger nearby teammates. Keep track of your squad’s position before using area attacks, and avoid separating so far that one player cannot help when a swarm or elite closes in.
