Spoilers: Shattered Veil’s Main Quest leads from repairing the elevator to acquiring and upgrading the Ray Gun Mark II, completing three Liminal trials, and fighting the Z-Rex. Optional secrets can award perks, weapons, or other help, but guides do not agree on a complete count of the map’s side Easter eggs.
What counts as a Shattered Veil Easter egg?
Shattered Veil arrived with Black Ops 6 Season 03 on April 2, 2025. The map is set at Colton Hall, in wooded hills above Liberty Falls, and its story involves the Sentinel Artifact and Agent Maxis, according to Call of Duty’s Season 03 announcement.

This guide covers the Main Quest as well as documented optional secrets. There is no established, exhaustive total: CODIntel presents a guide to known side eggs and links a video titled “ALL 19,” while Zombies Codex documents six and says it cannot claim a complete list. Treat the side-egg routes below as documented examples, not proof that every secret is included.
How to complete the Shattered Veil Main Quest
The main route is more than a final-boss fight. You must open access to the underground Mainframe Chamber, get the Ray Gun Mark II, build its three variants, complete their trials, and then face the Z-Rex. The steps below follow the independent walkthroughs from PC Gamer and Zombies Codex; detailed encounter mechanics are guide instructions, not official guarantees that every live-game detail remains unchanged.

1. Repair the elevator and reach the Mainframe Chamber
Follow the guided objective route to repair the elevator. PC Gamer’s walkthrough says the required parts are a fuse dropped by a special Maintenance Worker zombie in the eastern Library and a circuit board obtained by destroying Richtofen’s computer in the Director’s Quarters. Once the elevator is repaired, use it to reach the underground area and the Mainframe Chamber, where Pack-a-Punch is located.
2. Get the changing code and open the Ray Gun Mark II case
From round 10 onward, a Lab Technician appears in the Mainframe Chamber and drops a floppy disk. Insert it into the computer in the East Foyer, survive the resulting zombie horde, and collect the printed fax. It contains one of four words: MOTH, CRAB, YETI, or WORM.
Use the Nursery chalkboard to turn that word into a four-digit code. Find the cluster of chalkboard letters matching each letter in the word, then count the letters in that cluster; the count is that letter’s digit. Enter the four digits at the Service Tunnel keypad. Kill the Doppelghast released there, take its severed arm to the Ray Gun Mark II case in the Armory, and claim the weapon. The word and resulting code can vary by match, so use the fax and chalkboard in your game rather than a memorized code.
3. Build three Ray Gun Mark II variants and complete the trials
Collect and charge three canisters to build the Ray Gun Mark II variants. Zombies Codex associates the routes with Shem’s Henge, Serpent Mound, and the seed planters. The variants are Wraith Fire, Preservation, and Rot Blight; the official Season 03 Reloaded announcement names them W, P, and R and describes their effects: ignition, a temporary invulnerability sigil, and a spreading plague infection with area damage, respectively.

Each variant unlocks a Liminal trial. Complete all three to advance to the Z-Rex confrontation and finish the Main Quest.
4. Choose a guided or prepared run
Directed Mode adds round caps and extra Main Quest guidance, as announced by Call of Duty during Season 03 Reloaded. Zombies Codex estimates a prepared run at 50–80 minutes and describes the quest as solo-capable; those are that guide’s estimates, not official completion-time data. Its preparation list calls for Aether Shroud and a Kazimir Grenade, and notes that the map provides a free Shroud charge if you did not bring the Field Upgrade.
Main Quest reward
Call of Duty’s launch announcement listed the “PhDeadly” Carver Operator Skin, an animated Calling Card, and 5,000 XP as Main Quest rewards. It also announced a unique Calling Card variant for players who finished before Directed Mode arrived; that was a time-limited historical condition, not a currently available reward opportunity.

The routes below are attributed to CODIntel unless otherwise noted. Several have prerequisites or round-specific steps, so read the sequence before spending a round or resource.

Sleepwalking: chest with a perk and other rewards
- On round 11, check the Study clock for midnight and interact with it.
- Finish the round prone on the bed in Richtofen’s Director’s Quarters.
- Follow the footprints while crouched.
- Take the key from the sleeping armored zombie, then use it to open the chest.
CODIntel lists possible chest rewards including one perk, Pack-a-Punch crystals, legendary Aether tools, and intel documents.
SAM laser trap
- Interact with the computer by SAM in Security Overlook.
- During the same round, use a second terminal in the Study, Overlook, or West Hallways.
- When the red error message appears, collect the floppy disk and insert it into the Pack-a-Punch computer.
- After the SAM-infected message, activate the trap.
CODIntel says reactivating the trap costs 2,000 points.
Donut, the Mr. Peeks companion
Find six Mr. Peeks bunny pieces at Garden Pond, Conservatory, Shem’s Henge, Library, Rear Patio, and Bottles. Assemble Mr. Peeks at the motor to summon Donut. According to CODIntel, Donut evolves while fighting and explodes after 25 kills.
115-bell perk
This sequence has a substantial prerequisite chain: CODIntel says to obtain the Ray Gun Mark II-W and complete its explosive canister quest, then collect a sconce and bell, charge a portal, place the bell at the bar, brain-rot a nearby zombie, and collect a hip flask. Ring the bell 115 times to receive a random perk, according to that guide.

Free Wunderwaffe DG-2
CODIntel’s route requires the Ray Gun Mark II-W and the hip flask. Shoot the purple smoke under the Nursery bed, then hit three blue wisps: at the East Balcony chair, the spawn rock, and the Grand Foyer portrait. The guide says the final wisp appears above the elevator shaft and drops the Wunderwaffe DG-2.
Music Easter egg
Zombies Codex documents a Mister Peeks headphones music Easter egg, but its source does not confirm the exact pin locations or track title. Those details are therefore not included here.
High-round Z-Rex variation
CODIntel reports that starting the final boss after reaching round 100 triggers a hardcore version, with a gassed arena and altered phase behavior, but no additional reward. This is a reported guide detail, not an independently established guarantee for every current game version.

No dependable, shared total is established by the cited guides. CODIntel’s “ALL 19” video title suggests one count, while Zombies Codex lists six documented eggs and explicitly stops short of claiming the full inventory. Differences in what each guide counts may also affect totals. The reliable takeaway is that Shattered Veil has multiple optional secrets with useful rewards; the sources do not establish a definitive number of all side eggs.
